Blood Mage Assassin full cover.
Blood Mage Assassin arc 1 (198,500 words) is an edited/extended version of the web novel The Vengeful Scribe arc 1 (186,000 words ends at chapter 122). If you have never read either version, read Blood Mage Assassin. This version continues into arc 2 and beyond.
The two stories cover the same overall events (the early chapters don’t change much), but where The Vengeful Scribe begins with Jack as a level 31 Apprentice Scribe, for the Blood Mage Assassin version he is level 49.
The levelling system works in 25 level increments:
A case of literary theft: this tale is not rightfully on Amazon; if you see it, report the violation.
Novice:- Level 0-25
Apprentice:- Level 25-50
Journeyman:- Level 50-75
Expert:- Level 75-100
Master:- Level 100-125
I share these later on in the story, below are a few spreadsheets covering levelling.
These are based on average speeds. To reach level 25 as an average mage takes 10 years. A prodigy might knock it down to 7 years depending on Class Compatibility, Affinities, who they are, and support (gold to pay for protection while training).
So as a Level 49 Apprentice Scribe he is just one level away from a levelling milestone. When he reaches level 50, this opened new pathways. Upgrade his scribe class to Journeyman Scribe level 50, or choose a new novice class at level 0. Either way, he gained new skills not available in The Vengeful Scribe.
Thanks for reading and enjoy the story.
