"ARGH!!"

  Although his automatic transformation mechanism protected him, he was still cut in many places across his body, though the cuts were mostly shallow because his transformation still intercepted her slashes.

  Light turns around to catch her, but she has disappeared before he even turns.

  "She's more relentless now!"

  Light warps away and appears high above the sky, higher than the clouds.

  "Urgh!! It stings!! I've been cut all over my body. Dammit! What on earth happened in that short timespan I was away from her? And what were those red rings in her eyes? They are still visible even in her Second State."

  Light looks downwards to her and the city below. He is surprised that millions of her blue clock swords are floating above the city, all pointing their tips towards him.

  Lily was below all of those swords, and she pointed her open palm upwards towards Light.

  "Drop dead!"

  Suddenly, the millions of her blue swords fly in speed faster than light towards a single angle and direction, to where Light is.

  "I'm dead!!"

  Light transforms and raises his arms in a cross reflexively. The first hundred of her swords were quickly absorbed into his blackened hands.

  "I can do this! As long as I pull them towards my hands, I can absorb them all."

  But as soon as he finished talking, Lily appeared even higher above the sky than him. She summons millions of her blue sword again, slightly below her elevation position. And yet again, she launches her millions of blades, all towards Light from above, and they all fly at the same speed as all of her other swords.

  "DAMMIT!!"

  Light transforms his back and absorbs all of her swords to pinpoint them all towards his blackened back.

  But then Light quickly realizes that the millions of her swords have not dwindled in numbers, even though he has been absorbing all of them for quite some time by now.

  Lily appears at the same elevation as where Light is, but at a distance away. She summons her gigantic sword with 20 meters in length and 3 meters in width. She summons them horizontally all around Light. There are 20 of them cornering him dead in the middle.

  "Drop dead, Judge-san! I'll avenge Mi-chan with your death!"

  "LILY-SAN!! DROP THIS!! LISTEN TO ME!!! THEY'RE MANIPULATING YOU!! I'VE READ THE FILES!!"

  "I don't care! I've figured out your weakness! Last night, you absorbed my most powerful attacks, and it took you less than 10 seconds to absorb them in their entirety. And not to mention, you were completely open while you were doing it. It may look impressive to me the first time, but looking back at it, that is plenty of time to be vulnerable!"

  Lily smiles as she sends her gigantic sword towards Light at the same speed.

  "(I. . . I have no choice. . .)"

  As it stands, Light can easily absorb a few of her massive swords, but there are more coming from all around him. He would reach the 40% body limit before actually absorbing them all, and that would result in his death.

  Right now, he only has one option, an option that he prefers not to use if he had any other choice.

  Light was suddenly engulfed by a pitch-black sphere. The sphere blocks all of her gigantic swords as well as the millions of swords from above and below. A black light shoots upwards from the top of the sphere into the sky. The black sphere slowly disintegrates piece by piece, and Light comes out of it. The moment he came out, the rest of Lily's swords were absorbed into him completely in an instant.

  "You. . . also have Second State?"

  Lily was shocked by Light's Second State. According to her, Light was already strong enough in his First State, so having a Second State felt like overkill to her.

  Light's skin color changes into pure white. The sclera of his eyes turned black, and his pupils turned bright white. He is topless, showing his slightly muscular, pure white body. His entire forearms are pitch-black. From her chest on the left, where his heart is located, there is black swirling mimicking the shape of a blackhole. From that black swirling, black lines spread across his entire body, even to his face. He wears long black skirt-pants that reach above his ankles. The bottom edge of the skirt-pants is all torn and burned on all the edges, leaving his pure white feet bare. He also wears a black waist cape that reaches past his knees, which flows in the wind freely, and its edges also look torn and burned. He has a floating black halo on the top of his head. There is also a floating vertical black halo with a diameter of 2.5 meters behind his back. The black vertical halo has four long and slim ‘capes’ on the bottom half spreading across evenly, and they all flow in the wind freely.

  "Second State: King of Void!"

  Light takes a fighting stance.

  "If you wanna do this the hard way, Lily-san, then fine by me!!"

  Lily felt intimidated by Light’s Second State's appearance.

  Light points his open right palm forwards, and he grips his hand as if he's trying to grab something.

  And then all of a sudden, Lily was strangled around her neck, even though there was nothing around her neck.

  "AKH!! W-WHAT. . . IS THIS. . .?"

  Light suddenly warps in front of Lily. He grabs her by the face with his right hand. She felt free from the strangle on her neck when he grabbed her in the face.

  "You asked for this!!"

  Light drags Lily higher and higher towards the sky. He flies at an unbelievable speed, nearing the speed of sound. After only a few seconds, they both have reached the exosphere, the outermost layer of the atmosphere of planet Earth. But then Light keeps flying higher and higher, and eventually they have reached outer space.

  In the vacuum of space, there is neither air nor atmosphere for sound to travel, yet under the condition of Second State, they are both able to breathe and talk normally even here. They are also able to survive perfectly fine within the vacuum of space.

  The view up here is breathtaking. Countless stars are shining far away in the distance against the darkness, and the sun and the planet Mars are visible with the naked human eye. But then the view of the blue planet, Earth, from way above their locations is simply unmatched by anything else. There are no words to describe the view that only the two of them in the world currently have.

  "Calm your head down, Lily-san!!"

  Light moves Lily so that her back is now facing the earth. He prepares a punch with his right hand.

  "Mass of America, CONTINENTAL REJECTION!!!"

  Light punches Lily on her stomach with the same mass as the entire continent of America. Lily braces herself beforehand and casts a time stop on her entire body to prevent any damage coming towards her.

  "URRGGHH!!"

  Yet Lily was still sent flying. His punch also didn't make contact with her stomach. She was sent flying down towards the earth at the speed of sound. It only takes a few seconds for her to reach the city below.

  Just a few centimeters above the ground, without any hand movements or any chants, Lily casts a time stop on the entire world, and time has been put completely on hold yet again. She also allows the time stop to affect her velocity, momentum, mass, and speed to stop herself from hitting the ground. She floats and stops just a bit above the ground. She quickly recovers and thinks to herself.

  ". . . . He's still that much stronger. He didn't even punch me that hard yesterday. . ."

  All of a sudden, Light appears and stands near Lily. He warped from outer space and appeared a few meters away from her.

  "Lily-san, do you still wanna continue?"

  Says Light as he stares directly into Lily's eyes. She felt threatened by his gaze.

  "(Not again. . .)"

  "Lily-san. . ."

  "(It's happening again. . .)"

  "LILY-SAN?!"

  "(No matter how much I struggle. . .)"

  "LILY-SAN!! STOP!!"

  "(I can never be freed from all of these. . .)"

  "LILY-SAN!! DON'T BE CONSUMED BY NEGATIVE EMOTIONS!! LILY-SAN!! LILY-SAN!!"

  "(I hate my life. . .)"

  All of a sudden, Lily was engulfed by a black mist.

  "(OH NO!!! THAT MIST!!)"

  Light gathers wind in his right hand, and he launches it towards the black mist around Lily.

  The wind bursts out, making a small explosion of air, yet the black mist is unaffected in the slightest.

  "(So that mist isn't an actual mist? Dammit, I've only seen these things from videos on the internet!)"

  The black mist covered Lily's entire body, and after only a few seconds, the black mist dispersed, and Lily came out of it.

  "Lily. . . san?"

  Lily's appearance is still in her Second State; however, the colors on her body and her outfit are completely different. Every white color on her has become black, every blue has become orange, and every gold has become dark blue. Her pupils disappear from her eyes.

  This is called the Berserker state. It is a state that can only happen to a Believer. When someone curses or rejects themselves and their fate, overwhelming negative emotions will take over their heart. The visuals of their Faith power become inverted in colors. They completely lost their mind. They only move purely by instinct. There is no known way to revert someone who goes into a Berserker state to normal again. It is said that once a Believer becomes a Berserker, there is no other path except death. Their body will keep moving and attacking everything that they come across until their own body gives up, and they will die shortly after. Since they have no conscience during the state, they will pass away without ever knowing the final moment of their life.

  All of a sudden, Lily disappears from Light's sight. And then out of nowhere, the sky above was divided into four different intersections. One part of it is the sky in the morning, the other is the sky in daylight, the third is the sky in the evening, and the last is the sky during nighttime. It creates four different colors of lights that light up the entire city.

  "What on earth is happening?"

  It was Lily. She hides herself, and then she shoots an orange light towards the sky.

  In Second State, Lily gains a new command for her control over the flow of time called Break; she can now destroy time in a certain area for a moment.

  She casts her Break command on the entire city by shooting an orange light towards the center of it. As time itself is gone, time stops, upon the city also disappears. People have begun to walk normally, and cars drive normally again, but Light witnesses something weird.

  "Uuhh, when do I get to cross the road again?"

  "Mommy, when will the store open?"

  "Uuh, how long does it take to cross the road during a red light?"

  "Hmm, I don't know how to count how much longer it is until lunch break's over."

  People in the city were confused. They lost their sense of time. Their brain cannot calculate "time". Chaos kicks in right before Light's eyes.

  "AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAARRGGGGGGHHHH!! IT HURTS!!"

  "HEEELLLLPPPP!!!"

  "SOMEONE HELLPP!!"

  People were confused and screaming as they lacked their capability to calculate time. Some people began to cough up blood and eventually fall to the ground. Some people walk limply due to their brain cannot calculate how much time is needed to operate muscles, blood flow, bioelectricity signals, etc. Some people were mentally broken out of nowhere. Many people walk with empty stares and act like they are mentally disabled.

  It gets worse. People started dying out of nowhere. Some people grow old in a matter of seconds and die immediately. Some people grow younger but only at certain body parts, and become physically deranged. Tall buildings are collapsing as part of them disintegrate into dust. Parts of the roads are disappearing, creating holes that cause cars that pass by to crash and kill the drivers and the passengers inside.

  The entire city screams as agonizingly as it can. The very sight of people dying over a lack of time was occurring right in front of Light. This all creates a very chaotic and apocalyptic scenery. Just within a matter of seconds, the city is in a state of a post-apocalyptic world.

  Light himself remains the only one not to be affected by the lack of time in the city.

  "(HOW DO I STOP THIS?)"

  Light looks around in every direction, and he cannot find Lily anywhere.

  "(I HAVE TO FIND HER FIRST!! I'LL LURE HER OUT!!)"

  Light flies rapidly towards the divided sky high above. He touches the orange light at the center of the intersection. He absorbs the orange light into his blackened hand.

  After all the orange light was absorbed, the sky returned to its normal daylight sky.

  All of a sudden, Lily appears near Light and immediately slashes his torso. She also summoned hundreds of her orange swords from behind and bombarded him at the same time. Light takes the attacks openly and intentionally as he's currently immune to all types of damage. Light pulls Lily towards his hand and grabs her by the face yet again.

  "Time to stop, Lily-san!"

  Light drags Lily downwards towards the city below. He reaches the road below in just a few seconds and smashes Lily downwards towards the floor.

  "GRAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHH!!!"

  Lily doesn't even moan in pain with a human voice anymore. Light still holds her and pushes her downwards as she is planted quite deep into the asphalt road.

  Light raises his left hand and summons forth the Sword of Purification. He stabs it right in the center of her chest.

  One.

  "(This is my fault for losing her from my sights!)"

  "RAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA!!!" Lily rages and struggles to get away from Light, but to no avail, as Light doesn't even budge at all.

  Two.

  "(All of that happened within just a few seconds!)"

  Lily generates orange swords in all directions and shoots them endlessly. Light stays stoic as all of the swords that hit him were simply absorbed into him.

  Three.

  "(DAMMIT!! But I'll save her right now!)"

  The Sword of Purification emits a blindingly bright light, and it forms a giant dome of light on the ground, trapping the two of them inside.

  The Sword of Purification has another use. If you stab someone with the sword and it stays for three seconds, the Sword of Purification will transform into a burst of holy light and form a dome of light that traps both the holder of the sword and the person who was stabbed by the sword.

  Inside the dome of light, the holder of the sword will transfer their consciousness into the heart of the person who was stabbed. The dome of light is impenetrable by all means and will not break apart until the sword holder saves the victim from their negativity. This method is called 'Restoration'. However, this method only works on someone who has an overwhelming amount of negative emotions and someone whose consciousness is still intact.

  Light enters the inside of Lily's heart.
