Chapter 11 Soul Fire and Blight

I prepared my energy closer to my center, accumulating it, and then I let it out around me when I dropped the barrier, immediately creating a fog around me. That gave me more time to charge my spell and throw it at the mosquito’s leg; it was enough force to break a tree in half, and to my shock, it barely snapped the bone. It did what I wanted, but it was so close to not being enough. These creatures are way stronger than I expected; I threw the same spell from my other hand, which I had also prepared, at the spider’s parasite.

Now, this was a proper reaction; when it hit and the parasite bit into its host, the thing started going wild from the pain, knocking down trees and jumping around. The Shadow attacked me with its claws, and I blocked it with my sword, making it pulse with soul fire, and with my left hand, I blocked the ancient dark fumes pushed toward me. 2v1? Great. I tried to puncture the Shadow's side, but it just jumped back; it clearly understood that it just had to survive long enough and I would just fall. It smiled, which angered me, and I powered my body with energy and shouted, spreading my aura around and making them stumble for a second. When the pressure from the Wendigo disappeared for a moment, I closed my power around the Shadow, making it impossible for it to escape. I fried the Shadow with soul fire. As I started to smile, I felt some presence close up; I dodged instantly, and the ground I stood on previously turned to black toxic goo.

As it punched toward me, I jumped and kicked it powerfully; it stepped back a little, and I started walking circles around it, waiting for its move...

When it started creating minions from trees, I just started punching it. The power in my body was so intense that I didn't even use a sword, as it was meaningless for me at this moment. It was so... much... power... When I punched its face, I realized that I am now much bigger; the minions from the Wendigo were literally like ants, and I stomped a few of them, fueling my bloodlust further.

We started exchanging punches; it had claws, and I had strength. After pushing my knee into its body and breaking a few branches in its body, it clawed at me with its right hand. I slapped it down with my right hand as I was trained and kicked low with my left leg; I was able to block its moves, but not without a few scratches.

Both of us had a similar power level, so whoever won would come out twice as powerful after. That was a good motivation for both of us. So, when I tried to trap it in my power, it actually was able to push through and slash at my chest. I was in deep enough shock that I got almost decapitated by its next blow; I ducked it, but my leg got caught by some of its magic, and I almost fell over, but I basically lifted myself up fast enough.

As it lifted its hands, preparing to slash me in half, I pushed it with a combination of soul fire and blight, making it flinch. I picked up my sword with my mind and charged it with soul fire, pushing it into its stomach with a lot of power, leaving me at a quarter of my reserves. It went right in, shocking the beast and making it forget about me; I immediately lifted my feet back from the trap and punched its face with my elbow, followed by a kick at its knee, cracking it backwards, but at the same time, it struck me at my shoulder, almost knocking me out from the pain. I basically couldn't use my right hand anymore for this fight; fortunately, it couldn't use its leg either. Both of us were strongly damaged, and I didn't know at that moment who would win.

The Wendigo decided to attack, and I decided to go for a risk, ducking, and after he missed, I used all my increased-in-size body to ram into him, knocking him down and pushing the blade in even deeper. It screeched, and I used everything I had on my punch; when it connected with its face, the skull cracked and the creature went limp.

The pain almost took me out, but there was one more thing to do, but with how low the resources I had were, it would be more dangerous...
