Chapter 112 : Fourth Exam Preparation

Several days have passed, and we are now entering the third week of April. In one week, we will take our final exams for this year. But instead of focusing on the final exams, we, as current members of Elevrad, are instead focused on our increasing number of Elevrad assignments.

After the final exams at the end of April, in May, there are activities held by the academy, which Elevrad is responsible for organizing. These activities are the academy tournament and the academy festival. We, as current members of Elevrad, are currently busy with the tasks related to these activities.

  In the first-year, class A.

"As you know, next Sunday, the last week in April will be held the fourth exam or you could say the final exam for you all of this year. And as I said before, the final exam will be held outside the academy, near the Dukes' residences. For the first years, we will be holding the exams at the Duke of San Minerva's residence," said Mr. Alan.

The students, listening to Mr. Alan's explanation, seemed eager and enthusiastic, as this was the first time the exams had been held outside the academy. They were enthusiastic, considering it a trip.

"That's right, it's already the third week of April, and next week is the last week of April, which means final exams begin next week. I just realized that," I said.

"Did the many assignments at Elevrad make you lose track of time, Rid?" Noa asked.

  "I think so?," I said.

"For our trip to San Minerva, we'll leave this Sunday so we can start our exams there on Monday. We'll leave in the morning and probably arrive around noon. Upon arrival, we'll greet Duke San Minerva first, then attend the Duke's events, such as visiting his residence, attending a banquet, and so on," Mr. Alan said.

The students, hearing this, became enthusiastic again.

"After attending the Duke's event, you have free time there. You can explore San Minerva City or just stay at the inn. We'll be staying at a rented inn in San Minerva City. You're free to do whatever you like during your free time, but you must obey the rules there, both at the Duke's residence and in San Minerva City. You're only allowed to explore San Minerva City and can't go further than that. If you're caught going further than that, you'll be punished," said Mr. Alan.

  The students became enthusiastic again.

"Mr. Alan, I have a question," one of the students asked.

"What do you want to ask?" Mr. Alan asked.

"While we're exploring San Minerva City, we'll naturally be buying things there. Are we allowed to take the money the academy gives us each month with us?" the student asked.

"Of course you can, after all, that's what the money we gave you is for. Besides for academic purposes, you can also use it when traveling elsewhere, like during your final exams. In fact, you can take any remaining money with you after graduation, as I said before," said Mr. Alan.

The students were once again enthusiastic about this.

"Luckily, I didn't spend too much during my time at the academy, so I still have plenty left."

"Me too. I think I can use the remaining money I have to go on a spree in San Minerva."

"Ugh, I don't have much left this month. Can I borrow some money from you to explore San Minerva City later?" said the enthusiastic students.

They had been enthusiastic about exploring San Minerva and the banquet the Duke might be hosting. But they hadn't realized that they were going to San Minerva for an exam, not a vacation.

  Class ended.

"I have to go to the Elevrad room with everyone else today, Noa. I'm sorry we haven't been able to go home together lately," I said.

"Take it easy, Rid. I know you're all busy with your assignments right now, is there anything I need help with?" Noa asked.

"Nothing right now. Besides, we're just working on a few documents, even though they're a lot. But it looks like we'll need your help later. Senior Vyn said he'll need a lot of manpower for lifting things, decorations, and so on. So he'll definitely be asking for help from students who aren't Elevrad members," I said.

"I see. Okay then, I'll help you guys if needed," Noa said.

"Ok, then we'll go to the Elevrad room," I said.

  "Ok, Rid," Noa said.

  -

  In the Elevrad room.

We, the junior Elevrad members, were busy working on documents at the tables in the room. Meanwhile, the senior Elevrad members were busy going in and out of the room carrying documents.

"Let's finish this, Rid, so that while you're taking your final exam, you won't be thinking about the Elevrad assignment," said senior Gretta, who was waiting for the document I was writing.

"Yes, senior. By the way, where are senior Gretta and the other fourth-year students going for the final exam?" I asked.

"Hmm, you said you don't want to know about next year's exam?" Senior Gretta asked.

"Yes, I don't want to know about the content, but it's okay to ask where you're going for the final exam, right? Besides, the academy forbids sharing exam content, not the exam destination," I said.

"You have a point, it shouldn't be a problem to ask about the destination," senior Gretta said.

"But if you don't want to answer, that's fine, senior," I said.

"Don't worry, I'll answer it. We fourth-year students will take our final exams at Duke San Lucia's residence, while the third-year students will take their final exams at Duke San Quentine's residence, and the second-year students will take their final exams at Duke San Angela's residence," said senior Gretta.

"I only wanted to know the exam destinations for the fourth-year students. I didn't expect you to also answer the destinations for the second and third years," I said.

"I'll answer everything so you don't have to ask again. Hurry up and get the paperwork done," said senior Gretta.

  "Ok, Senior," I said.

A few days passed, and now it was Sunday, the day we were leaving for Duke San Minerva's residence.

I prepared the things I wanted to take there and neatly put them in my bag. Then I took my bag and left the dormitory. Outside, I saw that the others were also ready to leave. We set off together towards the academy gates.

When we arrived at the academy gates, there were already a large number of horse-drawn carriages lined up, ready to see us off. It wasn't just us gathered at the academy gate, students from other years were also gathered there. I met senior Gretta there and decided to chat with her, while my other friends continued walking to find the first-year carriage.

  "Hello, Rid," senior Gretta greeted.

"Hello too, Senior," I greeted back.

"We've been very busy the past few days, but we finally managed to finish our work. Now we can focus on this final exam," senior Gretta said.

"You're right, senior. And this is also senior Gretta's last exam at this academy, right?" I asked.

"Yes, you're right. I feel sad, but that doesn't mean I want to fail and repeat the fourth year," Senior Gretta said.

"Hahaha, yeah, I know," I said.

Then I saw my friends and other first-year students gathered in a row of carriages, which seemed to be the first-year carriages.

"It looks like that's the horse-drawn carriage for our year. Then, I'll excuse myself, senior. I'll go see them," I said.

"Yes, good luck, Rid, for your final exam," said senior Gretta.

  "Yes, senior too," I said.

Then I left senior Gretta and went to the crowd of first-year students. I approached Charles in the crowd.

"Is this the horse-drawn carriage for first-year students, Charles?" I asked.

"Oh, Rid. Yes, you're right, it's for first-year students. Are you done chatting with senior Gretta?" Charles said.

  "Yes," I said.

Then Mr. Alan came into our group, accompanied by four other people who seemed to be teachers from other first-year classes.

"Are all the first-year students gathered?" Mr. Alan asked.

We all checked around us to make sure none of our friends were left behind.

  "Yes, sir," we all said.

"Did you leave any of your belongings behind?" Mr. Alan asked again.

We checked our belongings to make sure.

  "No, sir," we all said.

"Then, please get into the carriage with your name on it," Mr. Alan said.

Then we all got into the carriage with our name on it. After all the students had gotten into their carriages, Mr. Alan and the four other teachers double-checked all the carriages.

"Everyone's in their carriages, so let's head to San Minerva," Mr. Alan said.

All the carriages carrying the first-year students began their journey to the? San Minerva City.
