  "Why are you sleeping there, Rid?" Irene asked, seeing me decide to sleep on the sofa in the room.

  Irene was currently wearing her pajamas, something I'd never seen her wear before, as we'd never slept together before.

  "Since there's only one bed, that's for you to sleep in, Irene. I don't mind sleeping here," I said.

  "I don't mind you sleeping here too," Irene said.

  "Aren't you afraid I'll do something strange to you while you sleep if I sleep next to you?" I asked.

  "No, I know you're not that kind of person anyway," Irene said.
