  Evan discovers he has been reborn as Lucien Duskbane, the overpowered villain of the novel 'The Hero’s Perfect Journey.' However, he only regains his memories at the age of nineteen, having had no recollection of his previous life until that moment.

  The problem is not just that he was reborn as a villain (though that is certainly one of the problems), but that he had never finished reading the story. He does not know how it ends, except for the fact that the author was mentally ill and had abruptly ended the story by killing the main character and destroying the world.

  Now, as Lucien Duskbane, he must not only prevent his own death, but also ensure the world does not end at the hands of some unknown force. He is guided only by the vague quest that appeared when he regained his memories.
