Storm

“Hmmm…” I thought to myself after finishing the second short story, “That ending was sort of a cliffhanger that kind of disguised itself as not being a cliffhanger by having ‘happily ever after’ and ‘the end’ at the end of it…

But I guess it still served its purpose of being entertaining…

And maybe there was a purpose to ending it right there?…

Or maybe the author just randomly decides to wrap up stories at odd places sometimes, lol…

But, anyhoo; on to the next short story!…” and then I began reading the 3rd short story in the book, and this is how the 3rd short story in the book went:

“It was a dark and stormy night, and there was a man who had been outside and walking around for an evening stroll before it had gotten stormy, and so now he was trapped in the storm!…

Then, suddenly!, he saw a vortex that was heading towards him!; and then he screamed! and he tried to run away from the vortex!; but the vortex was too fast!, and so now the man was trapped inside of the vortex!…

Well, the vortex then continued traveling around during the storm; but then the storm eventually died down, and so then the vortex freed the man and went away…; and so the man then splashed! into the water that the vortex had been above when the vortex had dropped him, and then the man quickly! swam to shore; and then the man was so tired from what had just happened that he fell asleep while on the shore that he had just swam over to…

And so then eventually the man woke up, and luckily it was a cloudy enough day that he hadn’t been sunburned by laying down where he was laying down at; and so then he yawned sleepily, and then he got up and began walking around in hopes that he could figure out where he was at…; and then eventually he reached a garden that had a lot of fruits and veggies in it; and so then he happily began eating some of the fruits and veggies, and then suddenly! a couple of angelic-looking folks showed up, and then one of them said, “Oh no!…

You’ve eaten some of the fruit!, and so now you’ll be immortal!…” and then the other angelic-looking person said, “Oh, woe is us!…

This story originates from Royal Road. Ensure the author gets the support they deserve by reading it there.

I mean, this is a disaster!…” and then the man said, “Was I not supposed to be here or something?…” and then one of the angelic-looking people said, “Well, it’s not your fault…; because, after all, we were supposed to be guarding this garden!…” and then the other angelic-looking person said, “Yup!…

I mean, we thought that we’d be able to step away from guard duty for a few minutes without any problems, but then it turned out that we were wrong!…” and then the man said, “Hmmmm…

Well, I can leave if you want me to…” and then one of the angelic-looking people said, “Nope!…

Can’t happen, unfortunately…” and then the other angelic-looking person said, “Yeah…

And so now we’ve just gotta make sure that you don’t leave the garden now that you’re here!…” and then the man said, “Well…

I guess the garden is pretty nice, and so maybe I won’t mind staying here…” and then one of the angelic-looking people said, “That’s a good attitude for you to have right now, friend!…” and then the other angelic-looking person said, “For sure!…

Oh!, and we should warn you not to eat from that one tree right there…

Because, like, you can eat everything else in the garden; but just don’t eat anything from that tree, alright?…” and then the man looked towards where the angelic-looking person was pointing, and then he said, “Ah…

And so it’s that tree that’s shaped like an ‘s’ that I can’t eat from then?…” and then the other angelic-looking person said, “Yup!…” and then the man said, “Good to know…

And so what would happen if I were to eat from that tree?…” and then one of the angelic-looking people said, “Oh, you’d have to leave the garden if you did that…” and then the man walked over to the tree and ate a piece of fruit that was hanging from one of the branches; and then he said, “Look!…

I just solved your problem!…; and so now I can leave this garden and you can just pretend that I never even got into the garden!…” and then one of the angelic-looking people said, “Well, we’re not going to be pretending anything; but I guess that we won’t bring it up to the boss unless we’re asked about it…” and then the other angelic-looking person said, “Yup!…

Pretending isn’t gonna be happening, but that doesn’t mean that we have to shout it from the rooftops! or anything like that!…” and then the man said, “Sounds good to me!…” and then he exited the garden and said farewell to the angelic-looking guards, and then the angelic-looking guards said farewell to him too and wished him good luck in his travels; and then he thanked the angelic-looking folks for the well-wishes, and then he wished them well too, and then the angelic-looking guards thanked him for the well-wishes; and then the man and the angelic-looking folks exchanged a final fond farewell; and then the man walked away from the garden, and as the man walked away from the garden the angelic-looking folks breathed a sigh of relief that disaster had been averted!, and they were both very confident that nobody else would ever get into the garden again and that everyone would live happily ever after!…
