Day 848 - May 01, 2032, 17:30
Ehem!
Rhino coughed to get the attention of everyone in the Senior Cadet Hall including Hawk and Goldie who came to visit.
When everyone saw the pink apron on Rhino’s muscular body, they all stifled their laughter except of course, one person.
“Pfft, hah! Did Ox give you that?” Hawk wheezed as slapped his thighs in delight.
When Hawk started, Jiho held his stomach as his red had turned red from holding on, “Hahahahaha!”
Yerin covered her twitching mouth as she patted Jiho’s shoulder, “Jiho… stop… you’re going to—pfft.” Yerin turned her gaze away.
Rhino watched all of them begin to laugh as he huffed and accidentally broke the spatula in half.
Goldie smiled as she patted Rhino, “Where—pfft—why didn’t you get the staff apron?”
“…Ox gave it to me since he burnt that down.” Rhino wilted inside.
Taeseok, who tried to calm himself down, said, “Guys, come on. Let Rhino talk.”
With his words, everyone calmed themselves down as Rhino sighed, “Thank you, 4-17, no its Bear now.”
He then glanced at everyone, “All of you have worked hard over the past two years… honestly, I’m not sure if that’s fast considering you were our first batch of the newer generation. But you all trained hard and all have special talents that make each of you unique. This party is for you to relax, enjoy the results of your efforts.”
Goldie then added, “And, we hosted this party to commemorate all of you graduating in two months. Well done.”
“That’s that, so let’s eat!” Hawk clapped his hands.
Taeseok was already at the front with his mouth drooling at the scent of barbecue, “50 portions please.”
“5-50? You know I’ve only made 28 so far?” Rhino was baffled.
“I can wait.”
Rhino gave him 5 portions before handling Jiho whose stomach was grumbling, “Can I have onions with mine, please?”
On the other hand, Hwayeon sighed as she looked at the mini device she made for the kill switch. Yerin sat down with a plate of vegetables, “Hey, you seem to be struggling. Need a hand?”
“With the master weaponist herself? I might need your help.” Hwayeon chuckled.
Hawk was making some ramyeon in a huge pot as Goldie looked at how boiling red it was. She smiled before smacking his head, “No one can eat that much spice but you!”
“That hurts, love.” Hawk pouted as he rubbed his head.
“I’m tossing it.”
“What? No! I’ll eat it!” Hawk was stopping Goldie from tossing the large ramyeon pot into the drain.
Minggu was sighing as he chewed on some barbecue while Seohwa sat next to him, “Can’t do it yet?”
“No, I can give physical boosts but mental boosts almost seem impossible.” Minggu smacked his cheeks to wake him up.
“Why not?”
“I can have an image of what I want for physical boosts but for mental, it is a delicate matter.”
This story is posted elsewhere by the author. Help them out by reading the authentic version.
“How about blocking instead of boosting for now?” Seohwa suggested.
!!!
“That’s it! I can just increase mental immunity like a shield!” Minggu stood up, “Thanks!”
Seohwa chuckled, “How about just eating first? It’s a party after all.” She then pointed at Jiho and Taeseok, “Like those guys.”
“HYUNG! THAT WAS MINE!” Jiho chased after Taeseok who had stolen his portion.
“No it isn’t! It landed on my plate!” Taeseok dodged Jiho’s pole as he bit into more of the barbecue.
“Only because you placed your plate above mine! Come back here, Hyung!” Jiho growled.
Minggu had his mouth wide as he asked incredulously, “You sure, Seohwa?”
Seohwa’s brows twitched as she breathed in before nodding, “I wouldn’t mean that much ease but still…” Her eyes turned cold.
Minggu shuddered as he whispered, “… Got it.”
Yerin asked Hwayeon, “So Dr 5 is gone now right?”
Hwayeon nodded as she fiddled with the device, “Yeah… he finished packing everything yesterday.”
“Were you able to say goodbye, unnie?”
“… I was, yeah.” Hwayeon smiled, “I’m glad that he’s leaving to be honest…”
Yerin held her shoulder to comfort her.
Hwayeon sighed, “If he was here, I might have wavered a bit.”
“You have us, unnie.” Yerin smiled warmly.
“NOOOOOOO! MY RAMYEON!!!” Hawk wailed as he fell on his knees when Goldie chucked the extremely spicy ramyeon.
Goldie sighed as she turned to Rhino, “Where are the ramyeon packets? I’ll make it so the kids won’t die due to poisoning.”
Rhino chuckled as he pointed to the drawer underneath. Goldie began to make proper mild ramyeon as Hawk hugged his knees, dejected.
She cut some carrots, scallops and lettuce and added it as toppings for the ramyeon. She taste tested it before smiling, “Ramyeon is ready for those who want it!”
Seohwa stood up immediately as she eagerly went but was soon pushed back by Taeseok to be first in line.
Seohwa fell on the floor as her mouth twitched and she began to growl, her patience having hit its limit, “TAE.SEOK.OPPA!!!”
Taeseok’s back was suddenly drenched in cold sweat as Seohwa’s hand gripped his shoulders.
“Seohwa~ calm down?”
“Do I look calm to you?” Seohwa gave him a deathly glare.
Hwayeon and Yerin who saw the commotion sighed.
Hwayeon chuckled, “That was definitely his fault.”
“Yep.” Yerin nodded.
“Seohwa~ I’m hungry… you can understand… right?” Taeseok’s voice slowly faded the more Seohwa stayed quiet.
Seohwa rebuked, “It’s ok to be hungry. I understand that. BUT! Pushing people away and pushing in line just to be first is definitely NOT OK!”
Minggu yawned as he chewed on some barbecue while sitting opposite of Yerin and Hwayeon, “Did Taeseok-hyung push in line again?”
“Yep.” Yerin nodded, “And even made Seohwa fall as they headed to get ramyeon.”
“Yikes! RIP hyung.” Minggu chuckled, unbothered, “Seohwa loves ramyeon the most.”
Jiho, who finally got his portion of barbecue, sat next to Minggu as he huffed, “It’s his karma for being selfish, that hyung.”
Rhino came behind them and chuckled as he commented, “Aren’t you heartless?”
***
Same day, 20:30 (after lights out)
In their dorm room, D6-06.
Yerin was inputting some code into Hwayeon’s kill switch device as it turned green.
Yerin stretched, “Done!”
“You’re a legend, Yerin.” Hwayeon cheered as she got the kill switch device off.
“Thanks, unnie.”
“Is it done?” Seohwa asked.
“Yep!” Both of them replied.
Hwayeon noticed Jiho watching Taeseok sway a pocket watch as she asked, “What are they doing?”
“Oh, Minggu needs someone to practise being influenced mentally so Taeseok is hypnotising Jiho.”
The girls watched them as Taeseok soon snapped his fingers, “Sleep.”
Jiho immediately fell to sleep.
“I’m guessing Jiho because he’s the most gullible?” Yerin mocked.
“… Well, out of all of us? Yes.” Seohwa smiled hesitantly.
Taeseok then said, “Jiho, when I snap my fingers again, you will be a chicken.” He then snapped his fingers.
Jiho woke up, seemingly normal.
Yerin asked, “Did it work?”
“SQUAWK!” Jiho replied, “SQUAWK! BAKBAKBAK”
Yerin laughed, “I can’t believe I don’t have a camera right now!”
“Yerin.” Hwayeon sighed, calming her down.
Taeseok looked at Minggu, “All yours.”
Minggu nodded as he hovered his hands on Jiho as it began to glow a warm light green. Vines began to attach itself on Jiho’s forehead as it pumped something inside Jiho’s head.
After a while, Minggu looked at Jiho expectantly after he pumped bits of a mental shield on Jiho’s mind.
Jiho opened his eyes and warmed up his jaw, “Did the hypnosis work?”
“YES!” Minggu clenched his fists in excitement upon success.
Seohwa placed her hands on her hips, “With this, we have a counter strategy against brainwashing and…” She looked at Hwayeon and Yerin.
“And the nanobomb.” Hwayeon smiled as she high-fived Yerin.
Jiho didn’t know what was going on as he just celebrated with them.
Taeseok munched on his chips and updated him, “You got hypnotised and Minggu set you free.”
“No way! I don’t remember it though?” Jiho pouted.
“I wish I had a camera to show you.” Yerin mocked.
“… Coming from you, I guess it’s true. So? What did you make me do anyway, Taeseok-hyung?”
“… Be a chicken?”
“WHAT?!!”
Yerin laughed, “Even if I get dementia, that will live rent free in my mind!”
“YERIN!!!” Jiho stood up to tackle her.
“CALL ME NOONA!!!” Yerin fought back.
Taeseok yawned as he stretched, “Guys, it’s lights out already… save that energy for training tomorrow.”
