Hello!
So, I've been wanting to write up lore to support the ideas and concepts I created for this story.
My issue is that I'm not sure which way you people would like best.
I could just write it at the bottom of the story, in the after-words, like I did in some of the earlier chapters, but this has the issue of:
A) Bloating the page.
B) Forcing people who aren't interested to scroll through it.
C) It's hard to find later one when you're wondering what something is.
The solution I have is that I'd create a second "Story", which would only be a collection of lore. Each chapter would be a single topic, and since I can re-order chapters, I can keep it in alphabetical order, and I can make an hyperlinkable table of content too.
The narrative has been stolen; if detected on Amazon, report the infringement.
So far, so good.
What I'm wondering is: Should I put hyperlinks in the story, over the words relevant to the when they first appear? It would work, but it would also make some of the words a different colour, maybe not the best for ease-of-reading. I could put the link next to it, like , but this would also disrupt the flow.
I could put them all in the post-chapter note.
I could put a constant at the bottom of each chapter, tucked away at the end.
Or I could put no link at all, and let people go peruse the codex of their own volition.
I've put up a poll beneath. Let me know what you think! Or comment with whatever!
I gave everyone two votes, if you have more than one preference!
Thanks!
Would you want a Codex? How would you want the lore to be given?
