“Woah! Oh my-” The portal spitted out Alex like a spitball.
The next thing Alex knew, he was looking down from 17 stories at a busy road full of speeding…flying cars? But the problem was that there was nothing beneath his feet. He was just gliding through the air sideways.
But all that didn’t matter because he had only one thing to do. Pull the dang parachute.

“Holy mitochondria!”
The parachute expanded like a flower in a timelapse video, but Alex started plummeting anyway. Sadly, the fall from the 17th floor was only about 3 seconds long. The parachute would have no chance to slow him down anyway.
Concrete rushed up towards Alex’s legs. He shuttered his eyes tight and waited for his legs to break.
Three seconds passed. Then five. The crunch never came.
Suddenly, a friendly voice said, “Hi sir! Do you need any breadsticks–I mean medical sticks–I mean medical assistance-”
Above Alex was a white body with a smiling face flying with rocket boots
