  This novel is all about the main character, Alister von Fai, who was born without emotions.

  He's on a wild journey to become an Ascendant, all thanks to his intense powers, Embodiment of Myth—(Myth Voracity), Ancient Wisdom—(Wisdom, and Destructive Desire—(Desire).

  Without these three, he'd literally be a goner, just a brain-dead husk.

  Basically, this whole story is about him figuring out what it means to have emotions and build a real soul, all while making some seriously questionable choices to get there.

  For all the tiny details, you'll need to dive into the novel itself.
