BOOM!
BLASTING OFF FROM THE GROUND with use of his flight ability, an emotionally distorted Magnus ripped across the jungle moon’s skyways at quite an accelerated rate.
After a short time of flying, Magnus found the most logical place where could land for the time being: The edge of a very tall cliff.
KA-JUNK!
“NO!!!! I shall not return to Voltaira!” Magnus shouted at the cliff’s edge after emerging from a dust cloud of dirt and debris. “I SHALL NOT!!! I am done! Finished, I am! Finished with taking life-cycle after life-cycle after THRACKING LIFE-CYCLE!!!”
Letting out a cry of anguish, Magnus continued to spout, “I’ve lived a life full of pain! A LIFE FULL OF DESTRUCTION!!! For ten cycles I dealt out nothing but death and annihilation to COUNTLESS life-forms all over the galaxy who never did anything harmful! ANYTHING AT ALL!!!!!”
“You can redeem yourself, World-Breaker,” Little Jaiya said as she now appeared on the cliff’s edge as well. “You can redeem yourself for your past crimes, for your past sins… But in order to do so you must first…”
“NO!” Magnus snapped as he turned around to face the apparition of the Crixan Childling that he obliterated into nothingness. “I SHALL DO NOTHING! There is nothing that I CAN do! THRACKING NOTHING!!!”
“You are wrong, World-Breaker."
“Am I?! Am I ‘wrong’?! You really believe so?!”
“Yes. I do.”
“HA! Well then, I guess you were not on Rannuk… BEFORE IT WAS THRACKING BROKEN when I got the living raxx kicked out of my vessel by Braako and the others!”
“I was there, World-Breaker.”
“You were?! WELL, THRACK ME SIDEWAYS THEN! Tell me, if you TRULY were back on Rannuk when Braako and the others came to kill me then why did you do nothing??? Why did you do THRACKING NOTHING and allow Braako to… to… URGH… THRACK!!!!”
Turning away from Little Jaiya again, Magnus said in a broken voice whilst hot and heavy tears streamed down his gaunt cheekbones, “Urgh… Anora. Oh, Anora… I am sorry! I am SO thracking sorry about what became of you!”
Facing Little Jaiya once more, Magnus ripped, “He killed her! BRAAKO THRACKING KILLED HER! HE KILLED ANORA!!!!!”
“I witnessed it,” Little Jaiya revealed.
“He broke her neck,” Magnus explained through his clenched jaw. “He broke her thracking neck just like this… LIKE THIS!”
Magnus then snapped his fingers as Little Jaiya looked at him in pity.
Shedding out a few more tears of pain and anguish, Magnus continued, “I failed her. I failed you. I failed Lero. I failed everyone… EVERYONE!!!”
Turning away again, Magnus stated, “I do not deserve to live. For all of these countless… RECURRING failures I do not deserve to live. Not a milli-cycle longer…”
“You had your chance to die, World-Breaker… And that chance was not taken.”
A case of theft: this story is not rightfully on Amazon; if you spot it, report the violation.
“Yes… This I know. My seemingly ONE and ONLY chance to die was at the hands of… Of Anora, but now it shall be by someone else… SOMETHING ELSE.”
Scrunching her brow in confusion, Little Jaiya huffed, “What?”
Just then, Little Jaiya’s eyes widened when she heard a loud noise that cracked across the moon’s skyways.
Magnus kept his back turned as Little Jaiya looked up to see that a MASSIVE chunk of the broken world of planet Rannuk was now descending towards the jungle moon’s surface… RIGHT TOWARDS THEIR CURRENT POSITIONS.
Little Jaiya’s eyes remained widened in shock as Magnus stated in a cold, emotionally drained tone of voice, “Tis done. All of it… DONE.”
“So, it seems,” Little Jaiya nodded in understanding. “But do you really wish to end it all like… THIS???”
“There is no ‘other way’, Girl,” Magnus responded as he lowered his head whilst the chunk of Rannuk came hurling down towards him, crossing through the jungle moon’s atmosphere in its flaming comet form.
“Suicide is your ‘grand plan’ then???”
“I am through with this cursed life-cycle. I am through with CONSTANTLY failing. This is the way… The ONLY way for it to all come to a much-needed end.”
Narrowing her eyes, Little Jaiya looked back up at the chunk of Rannuk which was now over half-way towards them.
“So, you would rather take your own life-cycle,” Little Jaiya asked. “Allow Braako and the others to conquer the whole Known Universe instead of erase your crippling tears, set aside your petrifying fears, depart from this moon, and return to Voltaira so you can try and stop them?” Little Jaiya asked after she had laid her narrowed eyes upon the World-Breaker once more.
“I do not care. Not anymore,” Magnus said with head still lowered and eyes closed.
“Tis a lie, World-Breaker. You know it is. If you allow them to run free, then more worlds shall die. More innocent life-forms shall die. Innocent life-forms like Kai… Xan… Anora… MYSELF.”
Eyes opened now, Magnus hung on to what Little Jaiya had just said to him.
If Magnus were to go through with killing himself by way of being crushed to death by the impending flaming chunk of Rannuk then Braako and the others would ‘break’ the emperor and his empire, the Voltairan Race, the hidden Enslaved beneath the planet’s surface, and then, as their final act, Braako and the others would BREAK VOLTAIRA ENTIRELY… And their madness would not stop there either.
No, it would have only just begun.
But alas… Magnus truly did not wish to take anymore life-cycles or break anymore worlds… But there was a feeling growing with him.
A nagging feeling.
A tearing feeling.
A feeling… OF VENGEANCE.
Even though he had constantly been ranting loudly to Kaze about not wanting to take part in anything anymore, Magnus did not believe in his own words. Not truthfully.
Magnus wanted to hide away forever and be left in peace… But for his true self… THE BREAKER OF WORLDS… There would never be peace.
There would only be pain, suffering… AND BLOOD.
So, even though he truly did wish to die, Magnus knew that deep down, somewhere within his emotionally distraught vessel, he had to stop Braako and the others. He knew that he had to free the enslaved. He knew that he had to topple ALL of the Voltairan Armies and occupied worlds. He knew that he had to BRING DOWN the Voltairan Empire… And he knew that he had to ultimately bring down Emperor Alixandr Corvinux Voltair for all of the cruel, wicked, vile, and perverse things that he did in all his eighty thracking cycles of existence.
Not just for the things that he did to others over the many cycles of his corrupted life-cycle, but for the things that he did to the Crixan Galactic Deciders… AND TO MAGNUS.
With the chunk of Rannuk now passing over Little Jaiya, causing her body to filter out of thin air, its jagged point was about to collide with the center of Magnus’s back until…
