XLV: CROSSING OVER

  SHOOOOOM...

  BOOP!

Exiting a chain of several ‘quantum warp jumps’ all the way from Rannuk’s ‘Jungle Moon’ were Magnus and Kaze aboard the latter’s stolen Voltairan Astro-Light Freighter.

Once he had laid his eyes upon it, Magnus gave the massive, ‘cursed’ planet of Voltaira a ‘crazed-looking death stare’.

“Here we are… THE THRACKING SLAVE-WORLD,” Kaze remarked as he and the World-Breaker both eyed the ‘Capital World’ of the Voltairan Empire hatefully.

Narrowing his eyes out the ship’s Front Main ‘impenaglass’ Viewport, Kaze pointed out, “Alright. So, here’s how we should play this… To enter through the planet’s atmosphere we must first have our ‘assigned’ astro-vessel ‘cleared’ through the Planetary Defense Belt. Once we have been cleared then we shall…”

“No,” Magnus huffed, cutting Kaze off mid-sentence.

Looking back at the World-Breaker in confusion, the young Jorrakan asked, “No?”

“NO. We will not be ‘cleared’ to enter through the Belt. This astro-vessel is a stolen one. Not a ‘pre-assign’. ALSO, we both are obviously not ‘Voltairan Knights’ or ‘Astro-Pilots of the Imperial Astro-Navy’, so, once the Planetary Defense Belt Monitors discover our true identities then we will BOTH be ‘blasted into oblivion’ in a mere thracking instant.”

Scrunching his brow still, Kaze asked, “Tell me, Magnus… Did you not hear anything that I told you back on Rannuk’s Moon?”

Magnus now scrunched his own brow whilst the young Jorrakan continued, “I have already passed through the thracking Belt. How else do you think I escaped from Voltaira in one thracking piece???”

  “You did?”

“Do I still draw breath before you now, World-Breaker?”

  “Yes.”

“THERE’S ‘YOUR ANSWER’ THEN,” Kaze bluntly stated. “Now… AS I WAS SAYING BEFORE I WAS SO RUDELY INTERRUPTED, once we have been cleared through the Belt I shall set a course for the same Hangar Bay that I… ‘commandeered’ this astro-vessel from during my ‘harrowing’ escape. Once we have ‘successfully’ landed our astro-vessel inside of the ‘Secret Hangar Bay’, we shall enter… AND TRAVEL DOWN the ventilation shaft that leads into the Prisoner Pits. Once we are in the Pits, we shall then begin with our ‘purpose’ here… Our ONLY purpose… LIBERATION.”

Magnus kept a stern expression on his grizzled, gaunt face as the Jorrakan continued, “We will liberate all of the innocent life-forms who have been wrongfully and secretly enslaved by that thracking despot Voltair! Then, once we have freed all of the enslaved from their dreaded confinements, we shall BRING DOWN the Voltairan Empire… IMPENABRICK BY THRACKING IMPENABRICK… And that’s where you and your ‘special skills’ come into play, World-Breaker.”

“Just get us through the Planetary Defense Belt in one piece,” Magnus angrily huffed with his eyes still bitterly narrowed, causing Kaze to nod in confirmation.

Taking hold of the astro-vessel’s Flight Control Wheel again, Kaze set his sights on one of the multiple ‘entry points’ in the Voltairan Planetary Defense Belt.

Flying the Light Astro-Freighter forward towards one of the entry points, Magnus silently waited as Kaze positioned the ship behind a fellow incoming Voltairan Astro-Light Freighter.

After the other Astro-Light Freighter that was ahead of them had passed through the entry point with effortless ease, Kaze took in a deep breath and said on the exhale, “Well… Here goes nothing.”

Kaze flew the ship forward again only to be stopped by an ‘electric force field barrier’.

As Kaze shook in his Pilot’s Chair and Magnus remained motionless in his ‘Co-Pilot’s’ Chair, a groggy male’s voice patched in through the Astro-Light Freighter’s Communications System to blare, “HALT, PILOT!!! STATE YOUR NAME, CALL SIGN, SHIP SERIAL NUMBER, AND YOUR REASON FOR ENTERING VOLTAIRAN AIRSPACE! YOU HAVE TEN MILLI-CYCLES TO COMPLY STARTING NOW! TEN!!!”

“Alright, alright! Name, name, name,” Kaze stressed as he quickly tapped his fingers on the Flight Control Panel that was set out before him.

“NINE,” the man, who was a ‘Planetary Defense Belt Monitor’, blared over the comms system as Kaze found and pressed a button on the panel that revealed all of the Astro-Light Freighter’s ‘Personal Information’.

“Muh-My name is… ‘Randis Teaug’! PRIVATE RANDIS TEAUG,” Kaze informed (lied) as he read the true Astro-Light Freighter’s Captain’s name off of the ship’s ‘Personal Information Holo’. “My ‘callsign’ is ‘EZPOIY THREE’... And my vessel’s serial number is ‘E-ZERO-ZERO-ONE-NINE-FOUR-FIVE-TWO’!”

“AND WHAT IS YOUR REASON FOR ENTERING VOLTAIRAN AIRSPACE, PRIVATE TEAUG?!” the Planetary Defense Belt Monitor fiercely demanded.

Unauthorized usage: this narrative is on Amazon without the author's consent. Report any sightings.

“Reason?” Kaze stammered under his breath as Magnus looked over at him in curiosity.

“What is it, Kaze,” Magnus asked in a careful whisper. “What is the disturbance?”

“My reason,” Kaze nervously whispered back. “He… He asked me what ‘my reason’ for entering ‘Voltairan Airspace’ was.”

  “Well… WHAT IS IT?”

  “I don’t know…”

  “What?”

  “I SAID THAT I DON’T THRACKING KNOW!!!”

“WHAT,” the Planetary Defense Belt Monitor boomed through the Comms System, causing both Kaze and Magnus’s eyes to widen.

Reacting quickly, Kaze replied, “NOTHING! Nuh-Nothing! My grandest apologies… my fellow Voltairan Brother. Tis been ‘so long’ since I have been back on the mother world! I’m just a bit ‘nervous’, is all. Heh, heh… Surely you can relate, yes?”

“STATE YOUR REASON FOR ENTERING VOLTAIRAN AIRSPACE RIGHT NOW OR I SHALL PERSONALLY INSPECT YOUR ASTRO-VESSEL MYSELF!” the Planetary Defense Belt Monitor threatened, causing Kaze to freeze up in fear.

Little Jaiya telepathically echoed within Magnus’s head.

“Huh?” Magnus huffed aloud in confusion, to which Kaze did not hear due to him trying to come up with a ‘stable’ enough sounding lie to fool the Planetary Defense Belt Monitor.

   Little Jaiya elaborated.

Learning of the celebration for his ‘death’ at the hands of the Galactic Deciders that the emperor himself put into play, Magnus lowered his brow in anger.

   Little Jaiya explained.

“No,” Magnus huffed back, silencing Little Jaiya’s ‘ghostly sounding’ voice within his mind.

Leaning over more towards the currently ‘freaking the thrack out’ Kaze Azir, Magnus instructed, “Tell him that your business on Voltaira is in regards to attending the ‘Grand Celebration’.”

“Huh? Grand Celebration,” Kaze huffed in confusion. “What are you talking about???”

“The Grand Celebration of ‘THE OATH-BREAKER’S’ demise.”

Kaze then scrunched his brow as the Planetary Defense Belt Monitor sounded off, “VESSEL INSPECTION COMMENCING IN THREE… TWO…”

“THE GRAND CELEBRATION,” Kaze shouted through the Comms System, silencing the Defense Belt Monitor before he could finish his countdown.

“ELABORATE, PRIVATE TEAUG.” the Planetary Defense Belt Monitor demanded, causing Kaze to look back at Magnus again.

Magnus nodded to the young Jorrakan who turned his head forward once more and said, “My business is in regards to attending the Celebration…”

“The GRAND Celebration,” Magnus whispered in correction.

“THE GRAND CELEBRATION,” Kaze corrected. “My ‘business’ on Voltaira is in regards to witnessing the ‘Grand Celebration’ of ‘the Oath-Breaker’s’ demise.”

There was now a long, ‘nail-biting’ pause on his end of the Comms System, causing Magnus and Kaze to both ‘freeze up’ in anticipation for whatever the Planetary Defense Belt Monitor’s reply may be.

Nearly a minute-cycle later, the Planetary Defense Belt Monitor came back on the Comms System to say, “VERY WELL. YOU AND YOUR ASTRO-VESSEL ARE NOW ‘CLEARED’ TO ENTER THROUGH ‘THE PLANETARY DEFENSE BELT’, PRIVATE TEAUG. ENJOY YOUR TIME ON THE ETERNALLY GRAND… AND FOREVER GLORIOUS PLANET OF VOLTAIRA. ALL HAIL THE GRAND, HOLY EMPEROR!!!”

“THRACKIN’ STARBLAZES!” Kaze then cried out, not realizing that he was still ‘on call’ with the Planetary Defense Belt Monitor.

“WHAT WAS THAT, PRIVATE TEAUG???” the Planetary Defense Belt Monitor asked Kaze.

“Oh, uh… NOTHING!” Kaze stammered through the Comms System. “‘Twas nothing… Grand thanks, my fellow ‘grand’ Voltairan!”

Kaze winced after saying that last part, which garnered a furious glare from Magnus.

Kaze shrugged his shoulders in reply to the Breaker of Worlds as the Planetary Defense Belt Monitor blared, “GET MOVING!!! I HAVE OTHER ASTRO-VESSELS TO TEND TO!”

“No thrackin’ problem,” Kaze said after deactivating the Comms System.

Taking hold of the Flight Control Wheel again, Kaze flew the Astro-Light Freighter through the entry point that both he and Magnus were stopped at… Successfully crossing through the Voltairan Planetary Defense Belt.

“Grand job getting us through the Belt,” Magnus ‘gruffly’ commended as Kaze flew the ship down through Voltairan Atmosphere. “I cannot believe we made it unscathed.”

“Me either,” Kaze replied after letting out a much needed ‘sigh of relief’. “I think I ‘raxxed’ myself during that conversation.”

Magnus then gave the young Jorrakan a disgusted glance, to which Kaze informed, “I ‘jest’… ALRIGHT, now let’s set a course for the Hangar Bay.”

“Right… The Hangar Bay. Where is it located?” Magnus asked as he looked out of the ship’s Front Main Viewport to see the ‘golden crown’ of planet Voltaira: VOLTAIR CITY.

The World-Breaker now glared intensely at his ‘former, thought to be home world’ as Kaze replied, “It’s on the far side of the city. Located in the…”

“SCRAP ZONE,” Magnus said in confusion as he looked at the ship’s ‘Navigation Holo-Screen’, which revealed the destination that Kaze had set the ship ‘on course’ towards.

“There is no ‘Hangar Bay’ in the Scrap Zone, Jorrakan,” Magnus stated to Kaze firmly. “Tis where all of the city’s ‘waste material’ is transported to be sent into the ‘Incinerator Pits’.”

“There IS a Hangar Bay there in this so-called ‘Scrap Zone’, World-Breaker. It’s the one where I stole the Light Freighter from. Now, if you would please be ‘so kind’ as to sit back and silence yourself during the remainder of this flight then it would be ‘grandly’ appreciated.”

Lowering his brow, Magnus sulked in anger as he bitterly reared back in his Co-Pilot’s Chair and waited as Kaze flew their ship towards the ‘secret hangar bay’ that was located within the deepest point of the Scrap Zone.
