Chapter 144: A New Friend

  Anna

That had been far too close for comfort. I had almost lost my utility and status over a moment of weakness. Saki had been right of course.. I always wanted to play princess. Just for a little.

That had dearly cost me and I would not be risking that again. Saki was the easiest to convince. Despite her charm and intelligence, she had a heart and she knew what the plague would do.

It wouldn’t have been pretty. Though, in all fairness. Tama was actually immune to the plague. Her body would have cleansed it within a week. They didn’t need to know that though, and they never asked.

They asked if I could cure it, and I could. Was it manipulative? A little. But I would NOT be denied my place as Tama’s pet. I would destroy galaxies before I allowed my owner to disown me again.

Saki used a jar that Lyran had on him, seriously that man had everything, including, based on Saki’s memories.. The whole package downstairs. Not that it mattered to me, I was with my mistress, my owner, my everything. I was overjoyed and in pure ecstasy.

Many look at me and see a monster, immoral, a little girl in some cases. But I am none of those things. I am a tool, a pet, a servant to a higher power.

Morality is for mortals, love is for mortals. Obedience and servitude are for pets. That is what I was, that was my role and always would be. Tama is my everything, and to her, I would be her everything… quite literally if I had my way.

I would also probably no longer take Anna’s form. I had a feeling it was giving off the wrong vibe. I needed someone Tama would like to look at… I considered multiple angles. She enjoyed purple, she was friendly to almost everyone but preferred strong fighters.

Saki was talking to Lyran about the antidote I made. Not important. Tama was listening in, she of course was hanging on to every word Saki said. Oh how I wish I was her… Tama would know instantly if I replaced her though.

It was not a risk I would take… But.. maybe I didn’t have too? An idea began to form and I felt glee. Slowly, I slid off of Tama. She didn’t even notice I left, or if she did, she didn’t care.

Tama could see through Saki’s illusions, but she couldn’t see through my forms. I think… I needed to become a friend. I went around the corner to Xan’s control room and out of sight.

Let’s see… purple hair, purple eyes.. No, not purple eyes. It would be too obvious. Saki would notice… Blue? Silver? An elf? No.. a Nekojin. Tama would love acceptance from her own kind. The purple hair would add that bit of enjoyment. Eye color was.. problematic.

I would take Saki’s paleness, but add a few shades so it isn’t obvious.. Yes.. Drake.. Tama liked Drake, but for his combat prowess, not physical attraction. I obviously would have to be female, I preferred that form anyways and Tama was awkward around men intimately.

My breasts would be the same size or smaller than hers, no jealousy. I would have to be shy, but accepting.. Yes. My body’s shape began to take form and I brought my nekojin purple tail in front and gently petted it.

A name.. Tina? Alleria? Mika? Tabitha? Candance? Sarah? Then the perfect name came to me and I grinned widely, which I quickly corrected to a shy smile. I would be as my owner put it. The bestest of friends.

A shame I came up with this idea after negotiating underwear privileges, but I could do both… Many people had underestimated my owner in her life. They had paid the price. I had almost done the same, I would not be making that mistake again as I had said earlier.

If you discover this tale on Amazon, be aware that it has been unlawfully taken from Royal Road. Please report it.

I would be extra careful to not claim I wasn’t myself.. Ever. But I also would avoid the topic heavily. Saki would most likely pick up on me not being Tama’s underwear everytime I was around in friend form..

I cursed quietly. Saki was always such a pain. Too smart to get past, but too close to be dealt with. Unless… My smile widened before I forced it back to an innocent look. This was going to take some getting used to.

But my form was complete, and a name has been given. Now, I just need to wait for the perfect moment to strike…

  Tama

I felt as Anna left my body quietly and entered the room with all the buttons. I didn’t really care. Saki felt better and that's what mattered. “So, basically, by merging the liquid with a type of oil it should separate the different forms cleanly. Let’s make sure we use small doses to not contaminate the whole batch.”

Saki and Lyran talked and talked. I didn’t have much to say and was getting bored. Blinked down to the rows and rows of golems. They weren’t boys or girls. Nothing down there and nothing up there. They stood in rows, but a few looked at me as I walked through them.

I looked up to make sure Saki was still buys.. She was.. And I brought my hand down and felt between the golems legs. It was smooth and flat. Then the golem I was touching punched me in the stomach!

I instantly blinked into the air. “Nya!” I snapped at the golem. I heard Saki giggle and Lyran whisper in her ear.

“I told you she would touch them down there.” To which Saki nodded and covered her mouth giggling.

I frowned and called out. “Tama is going to find Drake!” my tail lashed and I blinked back up to the railing. Giving Saki a hug, she made me promise to be good. “Nya! Tama was always good!” I responded. It was true!

Saki just shook her head, gave me a kiss on the cheek and said to be careful. I nodded and blinked out of the warehouse. It wasn’t until I was on a rooftop nearest to the castle that I realized.. I didn’t know how to find Drake…

I blinked down to the castle, I could ask Tully! I stood impatient as the guards did their super long spellcasting to open the gate. I think they were tricking me. I didn’t see why they needed magic to open a gate!

Saki had said it was a process and it was a necessary ritual. Ritual meant magic, but I didn’t see magic! Maybe the circle was under the ground? That would be so cool! I would have to ask Tully!

Before I could blink inside however someone called out to me. “Hey! You! Are you Princess Tamaneko?” I whirled to see a Nekojin girl my age… maybe younger? She rushed up to me smiling shyly at me.

She had long purple hair and her skin was.. Kind of like Saki’s.. But not quite. She looked at me with blue eyes and an uncertain smile. I was instantly suspicious. She was.. Too perfect and it felt.. Off…

But as queen, Saki said I had lots of people who would want to meet me. So, maybe it was a coincidence… “Nya! Tama is here!” I said proudly.

She caught up to me and spoke. “I was actually.. Hoping to talk to you. I know this sounds crazy but.. Can.. Can I call you just Tama?”

I smiled. “Nya! Tama is Tama’s name!” She nodded. “That is wonderful! I was hoping you wouldn’t mind going out to eat with me. I really wanted some fries!”

The idea of fries sounded really good… “Tama can’t, she has to find her friend Drake!” I said honestly. The girl didn’t seem upset at all, instead she nodded understandingly, then asked. “Can I help you find him?”

I considered for a moment before saying. “Tama is too fast, you would slow Tama down.”

The girl looked disappointed for a second, but then looked up suddenly. “Maybe you can take me with you?” She leaned in and looked hopeful. “You look so strong and capable!”

I felt my cheeks heat up at the praise and nodded. “Tama can take you! She can blink super far!”

“Tama’s name is Tama! What’s yours?” I asked curiously

The girl smiled at me with joy. “My name is Sabrina, but you can call me Sabi. By the way, we have matching hair colors! Did you know purple is my favorite color?”

I jumped up and down excitedly. “Tama’s too! Tama can find Drake later, Tama want’s fries with her new friend!”

I paused and another, better idea came to mind. “Tama should introduce you to Saki! She is Tama’s best friend! Sabi will love her!” Sabi giggled and jumped up and down with me.

“I am so excited!” She said happily. For just a moment, her face seemed to shift to less happy and more.. Glee? Excitement? Pleasure? Then she was smiling normally again.

That was.. Odd. But Tama would bring Sabi to Saki and we could all be best friends! I grabbed Sabi in a hug and she giggled. I giggled too, and I blinked into the air. Back to find Saki!
