As Tremor pulled Austin and his Pokémon out of Viridian City, a shadowy figure with green hair and eyes slipped away. “Great, so our hero is dating a cop and is stronger than a Police Chief. I have to get some help” Proton said as he headed back to the Viridian City Gym. As he entered the gym’s back door, he could hear a battle going on in the gym area. He slipped through to the hidden viewing box to see who was battling. Two of the gym trainers were battling to decide who gets to be the second in command. On one side stood a buff tall bodybuilder wearing his workout gear, and on the other side was a tamer with a whip and wearing leather gear. “Bunch of weirdos” Proton said as he sat down in his chair to watch.
“Go Rhydon, hit her weak Pokémon with a Megahorn!” the bodybuilder called out. “Dodge Dugtrio using Dig!” the tamer responded. “RHY RAWWW” Rhydon screamed with rage as it charged with it’s horn spinning and glowing with Bug Energy. Before it could hit though, Dugtrio disappeared underground. “Rhydon use Earthquake to get Dugtrio out!” The bodybuilder said while flexing his biceps. “Dugtrio, you have to get out before Earthquake hits!” the Tamer screamed with urgency. “RHYDON” Rhydon shouted as it slammed its feet into the ground. The earth of the Gym buckled and cracked as Earthquake ripped it apart. Out of one of the cracks came a knocked out Dugtrio. “Dugtrio is unable to battle! Rhydon and Vitalo are the winners!” the field judge called out raising his arm. “Yeah buddy! Told you we were too strong for you losers!” Vitalo called out taunting his opponent. “You won’t get so lucky next time” the Tamer said as she took Dugtrio and headed out to the PokéCenter. “Vitalo has been on a roll since his Rhyhorn evolved” said one of the Rocket Grunts who were sitting in the booth behind Proton. “No one has come close to being as strong as his Pokémon. Only the boss is stronger than him still” another Grunt responded. “All right, enough spectating. Round up all the Grunts and meet me downstairs in 10” Proton said as he stood up.
After 10 minutes, downstairs all the Grunts and Proton were standing together. “Listen up you good for nothings, we are heading to Pallet Town to take out some trash” Proton said angrily. “This hero thinks he can mess with Team Rocket and put us out of commission. What do you all think?” Proton asked with a sneer. “Let’s take him out and steal his precious Pokémon” said one Grunt. “No one gets in Team Rocket’s way!” said another Grunt. “Let’s teach him a lesson he will never forget!” exclaimed another. “Good, that’s what I like to hear. This guy has 5 Pokémon: a giant Onix that looks weird or has a broken horn, a big Tangela that has hands, a Lickitung who is round and has hair on its head, a Pidgey, and an Ekans. The plan is to wait till sundown in an hour and start making our way to Pallet Town. Around Midnight we blow in the side door and capture him quickly before he can react” Proton said laying everything out for the Team Rocket Grunts.

Tremor was coasting at about 25mph again as we rolled past Route 1. Before I could even blink, we were back at Pallet Town right at the bottom of the hill outside the lab. “Okay everyone, we are going to hurry and feed all the Pokémon and go to bed early. It has been a long day” I said with a sigh. We headed up the hill and went to enter the lab, but it looked like Professor Oak was talking to someone. I told the Pokémon to go ahead straight to the side door and I would meet them there. As I entered, I tried to move quietly so as not to interrupt.

“Austin! How was Viridian City?” Professor Oak asked noticing me. “Good! I met Jenny’s Mom who used to be the Officer Jenny of Viridian City. Also, had a Pokémon Battle with her” I said as I headed over to the part of the lab where Professor Oak was sitting. “Oh, that must have been intense. She was a very good Police Officer, and stopped a lot of crime both here and in Viridian City” Professor Oak replied. “Yes, but I think she likes me a little now” I said still unsure. “Let me introduce you to two of our neighbors, this is Delia Ketchum who owns and operates the only Restaurant in Pallet Town. This young man is Ash Ketchum, he is the same age as Gary and also wants to be a Pokémon Trainer” Professor Oak said signaling to each of the visitors in turn. “Very nice to meet you both!” I said offering my hand for a shake. “Nice to meet you as well “Austin, I’ve heard great things about you from Professor Oak” Delia said taking my hand. “Can I meet your Pokémon Mr. Austin?” Ash asked as he shook my hand. “Sure, I was just about to feed the Pokémon outside if you want to come see them all?” I asked. “Daisy, you good to help again just like this morning?” I asked her as well. “Yeah, let’s go!” both of them answered. Gary quietly followed behind them without anyone noticing them.
(THEY ARE REAL!!!! Ash Ketchum and his Mom are real!!! I still can’t tell if this is the television show, the comics/manga, or the games. Battling has been pretty easy so far, but I assume The Elite 4 would be the best battlers still…) Austin said to himself deep in thought. (What if people just have never had to battle like I thought. Am I pushing my Pokémon too hard? I have been pushing them too much physically and mentally, but they do seem to love training with me. I’ll need to talk to Professor Oak about this.) I thought internally. “Wow look at how big this Pokémon is!” Ash cried out as we stepped outside. “That is my friend Steelix his name is Tremor. All of these guys and gals here are my friends!” I said with pride. “Po the Lickilicky, Rapunzel the Tangrowth, Cha the Pidgey, Tremor the Steelix, and Taco the Ekans” I said pointing to all my Pokémon. “Wow! I’ve never heard of some of these! Can you teach me about them?” Ash asked. “Sure, let’s start feeding everyone in all the corrals, and I can explain on the way” I said picking up a bag of crickets and mealworms.
While we fed all the corrals, Ash, Gary, and Daisy took turns asking questions. We headed back towards the lab again now that all the outside Pokémon were fed. While we finished, Ash asked if he could come over to help feed the Pokémon like Daisy does, and I told him it was up to his Mom. “All right Ash, it’s time for us to go” Delia said standing up right as we entered the lab. “Thank you for talking with Ash and teaching him about Pokémon” Delia said offering a hug. “Oh, no problem at all. He asked a lot of good questions. It helped Daisy and Gary too even to have some new questions thrown in” I said returning her hug. “Goodbye Mr. Austin, I’ll let you know if my Mom says I can help again!” Ash said waving goodbye.
After they left, I sat on the couch with Gary, Daisy, and Professor Oak. Cha was still resting on my head already asleep. “Thank you for talking with Ash and my grandkids again Austin. It means a lot to have someone teach them new things and help prepare them for their own journeys” Professor Oak said. “No problem Professor Oak, it is the least I can do for you and for the kids. Knowledge is meant to be shared, and it helps everyone grow in the end” I said. “Okay, well it’s time for us to head home as well” Professor Oak said as he stood up. “Say goodnight to Mr. Austin you two” Professor said nodding to Gary and Daisy. “Goodnight Mr. Austin! See you in the morning” they both said. “Gary, are you going to help feed the Pokémon too?” I asked. “Yes, I decided after helping tonight. I want to help around the lab and get used to being with Pokémon and taking care of them. If I want to be a good trainer, I need to know how to make my Pokémon as strong as possible” Gary said looking proud. “That’s a wonderful idea then” I said patting his back. “See you all tomorrow!” I said waving good bye.
As I headed to bed, something felt off but I couldn’t be sure as to why or where or how. “Goodnight Cha! Rest up, you deserve it” I said stroking his chest feathers.
