Debt 6 – Class Change

Now that they had finished off the floor boss, Ryan crouched down, looking at the item it had dropped.

  "Analyze."

  [Rare Battle Gloves: Strength +50 | Stamina +30 | Psyche +30]

Description: Absorbs enemy damage when the fire attribute is activated.

Ryan picked up the gloves; they were actually a pair that extended up to the forearms. The upper part over the knuckles was made of metal. Both gloves had what looked like a magic stone embedded in them.

'I was hoping for a super sword, but I can’t compin. With the Wolf Hunter title and these gloves, I’ll be stronger now.'

As he put on the gloves, a new window appeared.

  [Item Skill Acquired]

  [Fire Wall]

Creates a shield that protects the designated target and damages anyone who touches it.

  [Fire Aura]

  Increases damage by 10%.

"This is really interesting. Can I really keep them?"

"Of course. I’m an archer and Helen uses a sword."

Helen and Mirian looked at each other and nodded, both in agreement.

"But I’m supposed to be a support."

"And you’re saying that now, after punching the boss to death."

"Ha, ha. Alright, I’ll keep them."

  'I want to try this.'

  "Fire Aura…"

Almost immediately, the gloves ignited in fmes. The fire came from the magic stone. Ryan shook his hands in surprise when he felt the heat around his fists.

"Ah! Ah, it burns, I’m burning!" He started running in circles.

"Ryan, take them off already!" Helen shouted.

Ryan stopped, standing still for a moment.

"What! Take them off!" Mirian insisted.

Ryan looked at them with slight disbelief.

"It’s just… I’m not actually burning, heh, heh."

"Idiot, don’t scare us like that," Helen grumbled.

  "Heh, heh. You’re hopeless."

He then deactivated the Fire Aura.

And began checking his stats. As a support, he could choose between two csses.

'I was excited about the gloves, but now… I should change csses.'

  [Select Css Change.]

  [Healer - Priest]

He crossed his arms for a moment and began analyzing each option. The Healer specialized purely in healing; it was the most common path, since a support wasn’t required to fight.

Although the Priest didn’t have an additional healing skill, it focused more on strengthening the group: debuffs on enemies, buffs that empowered himself by increasing mana, Psyche, and Resistance.

'If I want to keep fighting, Priest suits me much better, even if I’ll have to stick with the basic support healing skill.'

Ryan selected the Priest css. His body suddenly glowed.

[Congratutions, you are now a Priest.]

  Unique skills acquired:

Magic Barrier: Increases the target’s magical power.

Intelligence Blow: Increases the target’s mana by 40%.

Mental Blow: Grants immunity to curses and disorientation.

Reveal Hidden: Can see targets with stealth abilities.

Almighty: Increases 20% of all the target’s stats.

'With this and the support skills, I won’t have problems with the group. After all, we got this far without me even having a proper css.'

  "Alright, let’s go."

Once they entered floor 49, Ryan activated his Fire Aura and began fighting. He could kill monsters with his fists, though not very quickly, and Helen and Mirian finished off most of them.

"Do you want us to leave more for you?" Mirian asked.

"It’s not necessary. I just want us to reach the first floor quickly. Besides, we already achieved one objective, right?"

"Yes. Well… I guess. It’s not like gloves are exactly ideal for a Healer."

"Tsk. Don’t compin. We’re strong enough already, Mirian. Whether Ryan uses a staff or not, it won’t be a problem."

  "Heh, heh. Well, you’re right."

'These two… I wonder if they’re thinking about getting rid of me now.'

Ryan gained plenty of experience and reached level 70 by the time they descended to the first floor. He didn’t distribute his points there, though—they were more distracted after realizing something very important.

"If this dungeon is in the sky, how exactly are we supposed to get down!" Helen shouted.

"Well, we have to jump. There’s no other way."

"Jump? Stop joking, please, Mirian," Ryan intervened.

  "But I’m not joking… We’re S-css heroes. We won’t die from here. I think."

"What do you mean ‘I think’! No. There’s no way we’re doing that."

"Alright, alright. Don’t worry." Mirian hugged both of them as they stood at the edge of the dungeon portal, then pushed them and jumped with them.

  "What the—!"

The three of them came out of the portal and began to fall.

  "Kyaaaaaaaaaaaa!"

They were falling, slowed only by air resistance.

"Kyaaaaaa! You crazy idiot! Why did you do that?" Helen shouted angrily, a mix of rage and fear.

"And why are you smiling!" Ryan yelled at Mirian.

  "I can barely hear you!"

After a few moments of free fall, they could already see the ground, trees, and what looked like a ke.

"Damn, damn, damn! We’re going to die!" Ryan shouted. Helen kept screaming.

  "Almighty, enhance!"

All their attributes increased. Mirian, still calm as she fell, summoned her bow and pulled a rope from the pouch at her waist; wrapping Helen and Ryan to herself, she tied them together.

Then she fired an arrow with the other end of the rope attached and lodged it into a tree. As they descended, the rope tightened, pulling them and flinging them into the ke.

"Ha, ha, ha! That was fun," Mirian started ughing.

Helen hit her on the head.

"Idiot. Never do something like that again."

They all got out of the water, completely soaked. Helen and Mirian took off their clothes, remaining in their underwear, and id them out to dry.

"Ryan hasn’t said anything. Did he get mad?"

"How could he not! Idiot, we almost died!"

"And what idea did you have to leave the dungeon? It’s what I could do."

"Enough!" Ryan intervened angrily. "Since I used enhancement on you and there’s no longer any danger, you know what will happen, right?"

  "..."

Mirian’s expression shifted from a smile to one of guilt, as if being scolded.

"But I didn’t do anything. I’m angry too," Helen grumbled.

"Yes, I know. That’s why there will be punishment for Mirian."

"What? That’s not fair. I just wanted us to leave the dungeon."

"Helen, I order you to give Mirian ten spankings! And you, suicidal archer, I order you to let yourself be spanked!"

"Ha, ha, ha." Helen ughed and approached Mirian with a mischievous smile.

  Mirian blushed, stepping back.

  "No… I can’t… I can’t move my body…"
