By bloodshed we were thrown in, and through bloodshed, we made it out. Though of their own making, the tragedy of the bandits is no less lamentable. May the survivors of our attack find a more righteous cause to follow.
We suffered no losses, but our victory and rescue did not come without cost. Sheriff Jerrod, as much as he helped, suffered horrible wounds against the bandits. Thank God he survived, but I worry about his town without a proper guard. I would have at least sold the arms to the townsfolk, but Gazlow did make those guns look good.
That being said, to have reunited professor and protege brings no small amount of peace to my heart. Coryx looked aboslutely peachy while catching up with his Professor C Kallis. I do wonder why he hasn't learned to read, but given the arms they wield (The Professor's especially), and the boy's past, I'm sure they had more pressing issues than his literacy.
There is one last concern in my mind. One that sprang up when we started this investigation, and one that is only getting worse the more we learn, most recently from Professor C-Kallis. Just who were those responsible for the murder on the trail, and what do they have in mind with the information they killed for?
The tale has been illicitly lifted; should you spot it on Amazon, report the violation.
While it would be a great opportunity to meet the Knights of St. Bernard, I see that the information the Professor holds is much too important to leave unprotected. Maybe another day I’ll be able to meet with my brothers in the North.
Lord Jesus, thank You again for this opportunity. Thank You for bringing Professor Kallis back to her protege. Thank You for bringing meaning to their escorts' gruesome fates, and Thank You for bringing Sheriff Jerrod safely back to his town.
For our enemies, I pray for their conversion, that they may turn back to You. For though they may know much, they know not what they are doing.
St. Christopher, Patron Saint of my Order, I pray that you carry the faithful departed across the river just as you did for the child Jesus that fateful day, so that through the Mercy of God, their souls may rest in peace in Heaven. Pray for my soul and the souls of my group, that all we have done in this investigation may be pleasing in The Lord's eyes, and Pray for the conversion of all our misdeeds.
St. Bernard, Patron Saint of the North, please look after your order.
I ask all of this through Christ, our Lord.
Amen.
