CHAPTER 28: THE TWINS & THE BREACH OF CONTRACT

  Scene 1: The Docks

Time: 3:00 AM. New York Container Terminal.

A thick fog blanketed the docks, carrying the scent of engine oil and salt. The silence was absolute, like a graveyard.

The Skull Cross team was in position. I stood at the front, wearing a long black wool coat, adjusting my newly replaced glasses. To my right stood Benny, looming like a granite monolith blocking the wind. To my left was Niko, his hand resting casually near his holster, eyes scanning the shipping containers with paranoid intensity. Behind us was Daniel, clutching a metal briefcase containing $1.5 million. He was sweating despite the cold. Ten of Benny's strongest enforcers stood in the back, looking like children compared to the tension in the air.

A black armored truck rolled out of the mist, its headlights cutting through the gloom. It stopped ten meters away.

The rear doors swung open. The Broker stepped down, followed by fifteen mercenaries armed with automatic rifles.

"Gats!" The Broker laughed, revealing yellow teeth. "Punctual. I like doing business with finance guys."

  Scene 2: The Visual Shock

The Broker clapped his hands. Two figures emerged from the darkness of the cargo hold.

  The Gemini Twins.

They were both exactly 1.67 meters tall, with skin as pale as porcelain and long black hair cascading down their backs.

At first glance, they looked like characters from a Gothic graphic novel. They wore modified Black Maid Uniforms. But upon closer inspection, it wasn't cotton. It was Micro-weave Kevlar blended with slash-resistant carbon fiber. The black lace trimmings were actually heat-dissipating mesh. Beneath the pleated skirts, leather holsters and sheaths were hidden.

I remained silent, the cold sea mist condensing on my coat as I ran a deep-scan audit through the haze. I didn't see two girls in maid outfits; I saw two high-maintenance, military-grade tactical assets. This wasn't a purchase; it was a high-stakes merger with a pair of sentient nukes.

  Potential: EX-Tier (Force Multiplier).

Solomon’s Note: "Individually, they are nightmares. Together, they are a market crash in human form. Raphaela breaks the spirit; Luciela cleans up the remains. Risk of betrayal: High—unless the cash flow remains uninterrupted."

Luciela (Black Mamba - Scorpio): The elder sister stood on the left. Her dark eyes did not blink. Her pupils did not dilate, even facing fifteen guns from her side and ten from ours. Her breathing was so slow it was almost non-existent. This was Internal Qi—the absolute stillness of a lake before a storm. She looked at me, then scanned Benny and Niko. Internal Monologue (Luciela): "The big one is a meat shield. The small one is a glass cannon. The money carrier is a walking wallet. And the four-eyes... He is weak physically, yet... why does the air feel heavy around him?"

Raphaela (Red Centipede - Aries): The younger sister stood on the right, chewing gum loudly. Smack. Smack. In her right hand, she twirled a curved Karambit knife. She spun it so fast that the blade became a silver blur, creating a humming sound as it sliced the air. The air around her seemed to vibrate with heat. This was External Qi. Internal Monologue (Raphaela): "Boring. Another nouveau riche owner. Hope he doesn't make me wear a bikini. But... he looks clean. And that money in the briefcase smells delicious."

They bowed in unison, a movement as sharp as a robotic protocol: "Pleasure to meet the new Master."

  Scene 3: The Scam

Daniel stepped forward, placed the briefcase on the hood of the car, and opened it. Stacks of crisp, blue $100 bills sat in neat rows.

"1.5 million dollars. All there," Daniel said, his voice trembling slightly.

I stepped forward. "Where is the Neural Activation Code?"

The Broker looked at the money, then at me. Greed flashed in his eyes. He smirked.

"Gats, I hear you're making big moves in The Bronx," The Broker said, lighting a cigar. "But $1.5 million was last week's price. Inflation, you understand? Today's price is $2.5 million."

He snapped his fingers. CLICK-CLACK. His fifteen mercenaries raised their rifles, aiming directly at us.

"Give me another million, and I'll give you the Code. Without the Code, these two monsters will stand here like statues. You buying them for decoration?"

Luciela and Raphaela stood frozen. Their facial muscles twitched slightly in annoyance, but they couldn't move. The neural chips in their brains had locked their muscles.

  Scene 4: The Performance Bonus

Unauthorized duplication: this narrative has been taken without consent. Report sightings.

The air was tight enough to snap. Niko’s finger hovered over his trigger. Benny growled low in his throat.

I sighed, took off my glasses to wipe the mist, and put them back on. "I hate two things," I said, my voice cold and echoing across the docks. "One is late tax filings. Two is Post-agreement modification."

I ignored The Broker. I looked straight at The Twins.

"You two," I spoke loudly. "I know you are locked. But I am a generous CEO."

I called my CFO "Daniel, open the secret compartment in the briefcase"

"This is a Sign-on Bonus. $50,000 cash for each of you. Right here. Right now. If you clean up this trash in 30 seconds."

Raphaela’s eyes lit up like headlights. Cash. Immediate liquidity. Luciela smirked. A cruel, sadistic smile tore across her emotionless face.

The desire for wealth and bloodlust overwhelmed the electronic command. Their nervous systems shattered the safety locks.

  "Transaction accepted," Luciela whispered.

Scene 5: The Slaughter (Physics of Qi)

  "KILL THEM!" The Broker screamed.

  He was too slow.

Raphaela - External Qi: BOOM. Raphaela’s iron-soled boot slammed into the concrete, creating a sound like a small explosion. She vanished from her spot. She moved like a red blur. The air tore apart. She glided past the four mercenaries on the left. SLASH. SLASH. SLASH. SLASH. She didn't stab. She hooked her Karambit into their wrist tendons and Achilles heels. Blood sprayed like fountains. Four men collapsed, guns clattering, before they even understood they were dead. Raphaela giggled, a clear, chilling sound.

Luciela - Internal Qi: Unlike her sister, Luciela barely moved her feet. She drew two long-barreled pistols from under her skirt. Her eyes didn't blink. Her breath stopped. THWIP. THWIP. THWIP. Her shots were rhythmic, steady like a cash counting machine. No wasted movement. Each bullet was a closing entry in a ledger. Each round found the exact center of a mercenary's forehead. One shot. One kill. No pain, no struggle.

In exactly 28 seconds. Fifteen mercenaries lay dead on the wet ground. The red blood mixed with the grey fog. Only The Broker remained, standing amidst the corpses, shaking violently, his cigar fallen from his mouth.

Daniel hid behind my back, covering his eyes, muttering a prayer. Niko lowered his gun, his jaw dropping. "What the hell... that speed... I couldn't even track them."

Benny stared at the two small girls standing in the pool of blood. Internal Monologue (Benny): "Yesterday... if these two were guarding the Boss, that sniper would have been dead before he pulled the trigger. They are faster than me. More dangerous than me. Good. The Boss needs this."

  Scene 6: The Settlement

Raphaela hopped over, pressed her knife against The Broker's throat, fished the remote control device from his pocket, and tossed it to me.

I caught the device. It had a big red button to "Reset" or "Terminate" them.

The Twins stared at me. They waited. Would I push the button? Would I become another controller?

I looked at the machine. Then I looked at them. I shoved the machine into my pocket without even looking at it.

The Twins' eyes widened. Surprise and curiosity flashed across their faces.

"I don't need a cheap toy to manage my staff," I said, walking towards them. "I use Incentives and Reputation."

I stood in front of them. They were covered in blood. I handed them the thick envelopes.

"Here is your bonus," I said calmly. "Base salary will be transferred on the 1st and 15th of every month. Not a second late."

Raphaela grabbed the money, holding it tight. She smiled broadly, her tongue darting out to lick a drop of blood from her cheek. "I like you already, Boss!" she chirped.

Luciela took her envelope and tucked it into her bodice. She bowed her head, the deadly void in her eyes replaced by a flicker of genuine respect. "Understood, Master."

I turned to The Broker, who was kneeling on the ground, begging for mercy. "Per the contract terms," I said coldly. "Penalty for breach of contract." I looked at Luciela and pointed at his legs. "Kneecap him."

  BANG. BANG.

The Broker screamed as his knees were shattered. He would be in a wheelchair for life. A living reminder to never cross Solomon Gats.

  Scene 7: The Return

I turned and walked back to the car. "Let's go home. Daniel, pick up the briefcase. Don't get blood on it."

Daniel scrambled to his feet, clutching the briefcase to his chest like a lifeline. He walked backward, unable to take his eyes off the two petite girls standing in the carnage.

He sidled up to Benny and Niko, whispering as quietly as possible: "Hey... Benny, Niko. Did you see that? They aren't human. She slit four throats and she's still smiling. Is it... is it safe to bring them to the office? What if they snap and bite us?"

Before Niko could answer, a high-pitched, melodic voice chimed right in Daniel’s ear, even though Raphaela was five meters away.

"Oh, we do bite, Big Brother. And we bite hard."

Daniel screamed, "Ahhh!" and jumped behind Benny’s massive back.

Raphaela turned around, licking the flat of her Karambit blade. Her large, innocent eyes bore into Daniel like a cat watching a mouse. "Are you a walking wallet? You look... juicy. I bet you'd make a fun sound if I cut you."

Luciela didn't speak. She just glanced at Daniel's throat, her eyes calculating exactly how much pressure it would take to crush his windpipe.

Daniel was shaking uncontrollably. "S... Solomon! Boss! Help me! They want to eat me!"

I stopped. I didn't turn around. I just adjusted my glasses.

"Enough," I said, my voice calm but laced with absolute authority. "You two, listen. This is Daniel. He is my CFO (Chief Financial Officer)."

I turned and looked Raphaela in the eye.

"He is the one who signs your paychecks on the 1st and 15th of every month. If he is injured, or if he is panicked... his hand might shake. And if his hand shakes, he might accidentally miss a zero on your salary transfer."

  I smirked coldly.

"Do you want a pay cut?"

Raphaela froze. Her sadistic smile vanished instantly. Money was life. Luciela immediately holstered her guns and bowed her head submissively (though the submissiveness was clearly an act).

"Understood, Master," Luciela droned. "Protecting the CFO is top priority."

Raphaela pouted, then winked at Daniel playfully. "Just kidding, Mr. CFO! I'll be a good girl. Promise."

Daniel exhaled, though his knees were still knocking together.

I signaled for the car. Daniel scrambled into the backseat, squeezing himself against the window, trying to put as much distance between himself and Raphaela as possible.

As I walked ahead, the Twins lingered for a second.

Raphaela nudged her sister, whispering in rapid Spanish, her dark grin returning: "?Viste eso? (Did you see that?) The boss is cold, the big guy is a tank, the short one is scared, and the money guy is a rabbit."

Luciela smirked, a flicker of excitement in her dead eyes: "It's a circus, Raphaela. But... he pays cash. I think we are going to have a lot of fun in this new playground."

I opened the driver's door of the battered Cadillac. Benny took shotgun. The Twins piled into the back with a terrified Daniel.

I adjusted my glasses. A cold wind blew, but I didn't feel the chill anymore.

Internal Monologue (Solomon): "The Tsunami is now in my hands. From now on, my shadow has fangs and venom. Anyone who wants to assassinate me... will have to walk through this hell first."

I hit the gas. The car roared into the night, carrying the monsters home.
