Hey Chooms,
You know what they say about plans? “No plan survives first contact with the enemy.”
Well, so far we're heading in the right direction with some minor modifications.
Book One is done. You can call it Part one, but it's the length of a novella and I felt like it was a natural stopping point for the arc.
Will Scrap has emerged from the pit of despair.
Doc Kowalski's Clinic is thriving.
Regina Jones is pleasantly surprised by her new go to detective.
This story originates from a different website. Ensure the author gets the support they deserve by reading it there.
Night City remains…Night City.
Book Two is called Cyberpunk 2077: SECOND_WIND and continues the story of Will Scrap, the burnt out suicidal ex-cop with the budget Sandevistan. Only he's not that man anymore. Will's no longer suicidal, he's been “upgraded” with bioware enhancements and a new Sandevistan with a better cyberware foundation, and training his body.
Not everything in SECOND_CHANCE was resolved, but for the most part I wrapped up everything I wanted to. I'm guessing there will be 5-8 books total. I now consider this project to be an omnibus in progress.
SECOND_WIND is Will making the most out of the second chance the universe handed him. He's not going to solve the world's problems or take on any major corporations solo. What he can do is work to improve his corner of Kabuki and the lives of those he cares about.
Notes:
Will's debts are paid off and he's got more cash than he knows what to do with. I won't be spending a lot of time tracking his personal account balance. Not that he's independently wealthy and doesn't have to work anymore, just that that part of the story is over…for now. I will be focusing on the costs of running a business in Night City. Taxes, write-offs, bribes, and payment for “protection”.
I'm going to do my best to make this next book as self-contained as possible. Characters will be reintroduced. Old gigs will be referenced. I'll try to spread it out so you're not reading tons of backstory you already know.
If you have any questions or concerns please feel free to send me a message or comment below.
