Season 1 – Chapter 6: Encounter with Yuki

Season 1 – Chapter 6: Encounter with Yuki

The sun was slowly setting behind the dense treetops, and the forest was growing darker, covering the paths with long shadows that moved in rhythm with the wind. Akira walked carefully, keeping his eyes wide open and listening to every sound around him. After spending the day training his abilities and thinking about survival, he felt his confidence increasing, yet at the same time he knew that the world around him did not forgive mistakes. One wrong step could be fatal.

Suddenly, he heard a scream from the bushes. The voice was young, but filled with fear and despair. Without thinking, Akira rushed through the thick undergrowth and saw a girl surrounded by small monsters. Her face was terrified, her body tense as she tried to avoid claws and strikes. His heart skipped a beat; instinct forced him to act, to use his powers not only for his own protection but to save someone in danger.

As if his body had a will of its own, Akira activated his copying ability. He felt a surge of energy as his arms and legs became faster and more precise, moving through space with surprising agility. At the same time, he focused his mind on reading a fragment of fear and panic in the girl’s thoughts: “I don’t want to die here… please…” That fragment gave him the precision and sense of timing he needed to act.

He launched an attack on the monsters, predicting their movements thanks to his ability to read minds. Every leap, every attempt to strike him or corner the girl, was clearly foreseen, and he reacted with perfect accuracy. In a few swift moves, he managed to push the monsters back and create space for the girl to retreat.

When the monsters fled or withdrew, Akira approached the girl, still trembling from adrenaline. Their eyes met, and in hers he saw relief—but also doubt, the natural feeling of someone unsure whether they could trust their savior.

“Thank you… thank you…” she said softly, still shaken. “I… I’m Yuki.”

Akira nodded slowly, trying not to appear overly confident while also wanting to calm her. His mind was racing; he read fragments of her thoughts, sensed her fears, yet he was aware that he must not use his power to manipulate or intrude too deeply into her mind. He had to earn her trust naturally, step by step.

“It’s okay. You’re not in danger anymore,” he said calmly. “I can take you somewhere safe.”

Yuki watched him for a few moments, still visibly unsettled but also fascinated by his composure and determination. She said nothing, yet through fragments of her thoughts Akira could feel the relief slowly entering her heart: “Maybe I can trust him… maybe this isn’t another enemy…”

As they moved through the forest, Akira made sure not to make any sudden movements, letting each step signal that he was there to help, not to threaten. His mind absorbed fragments of information from the surroundings, analyzing the terrain, possible dangers, and ways for both of them to reach safety. Every thought was a balance between action and empathy, between power and respect for another person.

When they finally reached a small shelter in the forest, Yuki sat down on an old tree stump, while Akira stood a few steps away, watching her. He felt the fragile yet powerful bond of trust beginning to form and realized how important it was to act carefully and thoughtfully. Her thoughts were slowly calming, and for the first time in this world, he felt that he had truly helped someone using his powers in the right way.

As the sun completely disappeared beyond the horizon, Akira sat on the ground, observing his surroundings and Yuki, feeling the inner strength growing within him. Every obstacle, every battle, and every moment of awareness made him realize how different his life now was from everything he once knew—and how new friendships and allies were essential for his survival in this world full of danger and mystery.
