(29)Chapter 1.1.3– The Golden Eden Academy. (Part - 3)

Older Teacher- Once you are there, someone will ask you to inform what weapon you will be using. Please, provide said individual with the type of weapon you intend to use. Just be aware that, once you define said weapon, you will have to use it as otherwise, you will be disqualified.

“So, we will be using real weapons then? Isn’t that a little too dangerous for mock battles?”

Older Teacher- I know what you are saying and just between the two of us…

  He gets closer to Kiana left ear, and whispers to her the following;

Older Teacher- To be honest I’m also against it, quite against it in fact. I tried to stop them but I was unable to do so. Not everyone here knows how to use a weapon, let alone actually fight. However, the biggest problem that I have is from those who know how to. There have been a few problems here and there because of that, an experienced student “beating” someone without even the basic battle knowledge.

He backs off right after finishing saying this with a rather long look on his face, a distant look should I say. It seems he has experienced some bad things thanks to this and I do understand. Some people can let their overwhelming strength get to their heads and unfortunately harm those who are weaker. However, he quickly reverts back to his gentle look.

Older Teacher- But don’t worry about your safety! There will be several professionals ready to take action the moment that is needed. Just relax and do your best!

“Ah, I’m not worried about myself, I’m actually quite capable. Not only that, there isn’t anyone strong here, at least not enough to make me break a sweat let alone harm me.”

With a colder tone of voice and with a nonchalant look on her face, she says this to him and of course, he’s more than taken back by it. He simply does not believe her at all, after all, she seems just a fragile young lady, a petite lady at that and with a slightly stronger gust of wind, it can blow her away into the horizon and yet, she still proclaimed this with confidence.

Older Teacher- Are you sure about that? Overconfidence is your biggest enemy! Never underestimate your opponent or it will end badly for you.

Without much else to say to him she simply nods at him and thanks him at the end. I do agree with her way of handling this situation, there is no point in debuting someone over this. There is nothing that she can do to prove him wrong, not because she has no way of doing so but more so because he’s far too weak to understand it. What I mean by this is that, if she simply raised her magic energy that she’s letting out into the world, her magic output in other words, it would be more than enough to prove that she’s strong. However, for said party to understand this, we would have to actually sense it as otherwise, it will be for naught. Sensing your enemy magic energy levels is a good way to get an idea of how strong he is, just like I did with the Crystal monsters, Miranda and The Void Queen. There always are exceptions to the rule, but said exceptions do not dethrone the rule.

Moving on! I need to stop from jabbering for no apparent reason. Once she got to the arena, it went as expected. A small group is in the middle, while the rest of them form a circle outside of the arena. For some reason these people have chairs at their disposal as if they are about to watch a show. Seeing it from a different perspective, it does seem like, after all, there will be mock battles in just a few moments. These battles can be quite the spectacle if two strong opponents fight each other for example.

Unlawfully taken from Royal Road, this story should be reported if seen on Amazon.

The small group is composed of roughly twenty students, including Kiana. These students do seem a little different from the rest of them, what I mean by that is that, they look much “poorer” than the other students, ones that in this case, they look rich. I’m the one saying all of this and yet, I already do not like what I’m getting at, but I will keep thinking. The outside students have several things that make it apparent, like their clothes for example. They are elegant, expensive looking while some of them look bother line weird but still somehow expensive as hell. Bags that look the same way, accessories that seem to be made of everything and anything that you can think of, in other words, pretty expensive. Meanwhile, the ones at the centre seem much more down to earth, with modest clothes and all of that jazz. Who knows, this might actually be quite bad for Kiana, if they are already separating students based on income, it makes what Taniah said quite irrelevant and meaningless. Huh, now I do wonder, does Taniah see things like this too? Either way, it seems Kiana does not see this from my perspective, as she seems excited.

“Ooo! This is going to be fun!”

Just like a child in a candy store and with way too much money on his hands, she says this quietly but with the biggest smile on her face, with her golden eyes shining with excitement and with both of her small hands ready for action. She is way too excited for someone who just claimed that there isn’t anyone strong here. Oh well, just a weirdo being a weirdo I guess, if she’s fine then not much that I can complain about it. A few minutes later everyone is at their corresponding spots and once that happens, a teacher walks up to the students in the middle, asking for their ID and their weapon of choice. Though, can anyone guess what weapon Kiana chose to use? Can you? I will help you out.

  Is it a sword?

No, those are way too overused these days I would say. Even I, if it wasn’t for the church gifting me the Paladin White Sword, I would not have one.

How about a longsword? Maybe a claymore? Those can do lots of damage.

Nah, way too big for someone of her stature.

Hum, a rapier? They sure are pointy and light at the same time. You can be deadly precise with them. I actually once fought someone with a rapier and let me tell you, they sting to get stabbed by.

Nope, her fighting style does not seem to match those types of weapons. Even though I don’t know how she fights. Huh, I wonder how I got this information?

My options are dwelling, how about a bow?

Neither that, she can always use magic for long range in the case she needs it.

You won’t guess it so let me tell you then, you do seem quite curious now and anyone would be to be honest. I made a fantastic job creating the suspense but now, we need drums please! Before I say anything, I need some drama, this is going to be one hell of a shock.

Drums noise! Dramatic drums because I asked for it!

Drums noise! More dramatic drums because I can’t have enough of them!

Drums noise! Even more dramatic drums so that you cannot notice this bit has gone for way too long!

And it’s a pair of scissors… Yeah, I know! What the actual hell!? A pair of scissors!? What is she going to do with them? Somehow cut their hair while she battles them? Wait, I think I got it, rather than doing damage to them, she’s going to change their hairstyle, and get this! Depending on her mood, the hairstyle itself will also change! She’s mad, don’t worry, here’s a furry hair change! Just like now, she’s excited, here is a super hyper mega happy hair change! Seriously, from all the weapons she could’ve chosen from and she decided on this!? Am I missing something? Actually, I am, why do I even bother to ask?

The other thing that surprised me the most was how she said this to the teacher, a normal looking teacher mind you, I would say in his thirties. With the most innocent look on her face, she told him, and he didn’t even bother to say anything! Sigh! I do hope I’m making a thunderstorm in a cup. And so, while I was yapping about Kiana's choice of weapon, another set of minutes goes by and everyone is done telling the teacher what weapon they will be using.
