I don’t know what’s about to happen to me today.
(Hi, my name is Rayn Taqeesh. I’m 15 years old. I’m a high noble. Just so you know—it's the year 2119, and social hierarchy is a totally normal thing in this era.
I live in a small apartment in the city of Velmora, in the country of Siddakara.
I’m a second-year student at The Lumynara International High School.
Yeah, second year at 15 — because this school is one of the top 10 in the entire country.
Students who are really good academically get early admission or transfers. I was always the top student in middle school, so I got accepted at 14.
One more thing — our school barely has any mid royals or mid nobles. Most of the students here are low royals.
And about what I said earlier—“I don’t know what’s going to happen today.”
The reason is… the most popular girl in school — the one half the boys are totally in love with — is actually my girlfriend. No one knows about our relationship, but today… they’re going to find out.
Her name is Yuqeen Aev Hanabirah.
But the fact that Yuqeen is my girlfriend isn’t the only crazy part… Her apartment is right next to mine.)
The morning sunlight hadn’t fully touched the city yet. A cool breeze slipped in through the window gap.
Rayn stood in front of the mirror in his apartment, adjusting his hair one last time.
His school uniform radiated pure royal energy — a deep navy-blue base, subtle silver lines across the fabric, a fitted vest in front, brass-toned buttons, and a crest gleaming on his chest.
The long cloak fell past his knees, the runes etched along the hem glowing faintly blue.
With the ID tag, dark gloves, and black formal boots, the whole look was sharp and spotless.
As he slung his bag over his shoulder, Rayn thought with a hint of nervousness:— “Today’s going to be different… everything’s going to change.”
The moment he opened his apartment door, he found Yuqeen standing right outside, waiting for him.
When she saw him open the door, Yuqeen gave a soft, sweet smile and said:— Good morning.
Her long pink hair and sparkling violet eyes made it obvious why she was the school’s star.
Seeing her, Rayn forgot all his worries and smiled gently before responding softly:— Good morning, Yuqeen…
Yuqeen spoke in an excited, gentle but bright voice:— Today’s the first time we’re going to school together. We won’t have to act like strangers there anymore.
Rayn gave a small smile, then said softly:— That’s all good, but instead of waiting outside, you could’ve just come in.
Hearing that, Yuqeen didn’t reply — she only gave him a sweet, happy smile.
Yuqeen’s school uniform looked completely royal-class. Her deep blue skirt shimmered like a night sky sprinkled with tiny starlight as it swayed.
The fitted blazer on top was lined with golden thread, and the academy’s crest gleamed proudly on her chest.
A white cloak hung from her shoulders, falling below her knees, and the large golden moon drawn on the back made her rank just as eye-catching.
Her white boots were spotless, and the whole outfit had a soft, elegant glow — something that made Yuqeen stand out even more.
After a while, the two of them set off for school together. There were no cars on the road, as if the whole path was wrapped in a strange, peaceful stillness, and the cool breeze brushing past them made the atmosphere even gentler.
Rayn still had a thousand worries spinning in his head. Most of the school shared classes with him during this time.
As he walked, he glanced at Yuqeen from the corner of his eye — and paused for a moment.
Yuqeen’s long silky hair swayed like ocean waves in the wind. And her cheeks were bright red — like she was blushing.
Seeing her so quiet, Rayn asked softly:— Yuqeen, are you feeling nervous?
At his words, Yuqeen flinched slightly. Then slowly, stumbling a little, she said:— No… I mean… it’s just… it’s our first time going to school together… so I’m a little nervous.
Rayn looked a little confused, stayed quiet for a moment, then said straightforwardly:— “That’s it? But we’re together every day, we hang out all the time… walking side by side today isn’t anything new. What’s there to be nervous about?”
Hearing that, Yuqeen closed her eyes and whispered:— “Oh god… you wouldn’t get it.”
A little while later, the two reached a simple bridge — the one that sat right in the middle of their route to school.
Yuqeen suddenly stopped at the center of the bridge and stared down at the flowing river.
Then she walked to the edge, closed her eyes, and began to feel everything — the sound of the waves, the cold wind brushing past, the soft morning calm.
Rayn slowly walked up beside her and just watched her with a gentle, sweet smile.
Then he closed his eyes too and thought quietly:— “This girl… she’s different. How can someone be this shy and this kind?”

The wind flowed around them. Rayn took a deep breath and kept thinking:— “If I hadn’t met Yuqeen that day… what would I be doing now? Would my life still be the same? Would I still…”
Before he could finish his thought, Yuqeen called him:— “Rayn? Rayn? Where did you drift off to?”
Rayn opened his eyes and said softly:— “No, no, I didn’t drift off. I was just… thinking about this bridge.”
Hearing that, Yuqeen gave a joyful smile and said:— “I was thinking about this bridge too. Remember? This is where we first met.”
The moment she said that, Rayn laughed and said in a playful tone:— “How could I forget? That day I talked to a ‘female mafia’.”
At his words, Yuqeen’s cheeks suddenly turned bright red. She covered her face with both hands and said in an embarrassed voice:— “Rayn… why do you remember that? Please forget it.”
Rayn stopped laughing and stayed quiet for a moment. Then he gently placed his hand on her head and whispered softly:— “Alright… I won’t bring it up again. Now move your hands, let’s go — we’re gonna be late for school.”
Within a short while, Rayn and Yuqeen were already getting close to the school.
Yuqeen was still feeling nervous. She wanted to say something to Rayn while walking, but she noticed he looked really serious. Whatever he was thinking about… it was clearly written all over his face.
In a soft, careful voice, Yuqeen asked:— “Rayn… what’s wrong? What are you thinking about?”
Rayn let out a deep breath and replied calmly:— “You’re so excited about coming to school together… you have no idea what’s about to happen today.”
Yuqeen didn’t fully understand what he meant, but she did understand one thing — today, everyone’s attention would be on them.
Because Yuqeen was the best and most popular girl in the entire school. And Rayn? Just a completely random guy in everyone’s eyes. On top of that, Yuqeen was a Royal, and Rayn was a Noble.
Yuqeen knew very well — half the boys in school liked her. So starting today, a lot of them would start disliking Rayn.
Thinking about all of that, Yuqeen felt a small sting of regret and thought to herself:— “Maybe insisting that we go to school together was a mistake… Rayn’s that quiet boy who barely talks to anyone…”
Her mind raced, and in her nervous, shaky voice she stuttered:— “Ra-Rayn… d-don’t worry… I-I’m here…”
Rayn’s eyes softened. He whispered:— “You being with me… that’s exactly what I’m worried about.”
Suddenly, Yuqeen stepped forward and grabbed his hand. Rayn slowly turned to look at her, surprised by the sudden gesture.
And the moment he looked at her, he froze for a second — because in Yuqeen’s eyes he saw something calm, deep, almost ocean-like… love and peace shimmering quietly.
Yuqeen tucked a strand of hair behind her ear, gave him a gentle, kind smile, and said softly:— “Don’t worry. I’m here with you.”
Hearing Yuqeen’s words — and seeing that soft, calm smile on her face — something inside Rayn melted. In an instant, all his tension faded, and a small, warm smile appeared on his lips.
Rayn and Yuqeen slowly continued walking toward the main gate of the school.
The Lumynara International High School — one of the top 10 most prestigious institutions in the entire country.
From the outside, the whole place radiated pure royal vibes. A tall black iron gate, and above it the golden Lumynara crest — just one look was enough to understand the kind of students who studied inside.
The moment they stepped in, they passed rows of tall green trees on both sides, and a wide central pathway that led straight toward the main building.
On both sides lay huge open lawns — where students usually sat, walked, or hung out.
The school building itself stood four stories high, made with a blend of modern concrete and glass.
But on the upper portion, the dome-shaped design added a slight touch of old-era royalty. Even the pale white and blue walls seemed to announce the school's dignity from afar.
As soon as they walked past the gate, a random girl spotted Rayn and Yuqeen together — and stopped dead in her tracks. Stunned, she whispered to her friend beside her:— “That’s Hanabirah… but who’s the guy with her?”
Her friend stared for a moment, confused, and said:— “I’ve never seen Hanabirah with any boy… is that guy her boyfriend?”
A boy standing nearby overheard them. The moment he saw Yuqeen holding Rayn’s hand, he froze completely.
Slowly, more and more students inside the gate started looking their way. Those who were walking suddenly stopped.
It felt like the entire atmosphere shifted — anger and shock were written across the faces of several boys.
One boy from Rayn’s class glared from a distance and shouted:— “Taqeesh! Why are you with Hanabirah?!”
Seeing the most popular girl in school holding hands with a quiet, unseen, nobody-type guy left half the boys frozen — but that didn’t stop them from talking.
Someone gritted his teeth and whispered harshly:— “Taqeesh, let go of Hanabirah’s hand.”
Another girl, completely confused, said:— “This guy stayed silent the entire semester… suddenly he’s with Hanabirah? I don’t think anyone’s ever seen them talk.”
From every direction, whispers, jealousy, shock — everything blended into a rising wave of murmurs.
Seeing everyone talk like that and act that way, Yuqeen panicked and moved even closer to Rayn — instantly gripping his arm even tighter.
The moment Rayn felt her cling to him like that, he understood immediately — Yuqeen was scared.
Rayn’s expression shifted in an instant, turning much more serious. And the fact that Yuqeen had come even closer to him — holding his arm so tightly — left everyone around them stunned.
Neither of them looked at anyone. They just walked straight into the school building.
Inside the main building was a wide entrance hall — polished floors, walls lined with portraits of famous scholars and ancient warriors.
The classrooms were modern, bright sunlight pouring in through large windows.
No regular blackboards here — only advanced smartboards.
After some time, we moved inside the classroom.
Inside, several boys had surrounded Rayn — everyone’s faces clearly tense and angry. A whole list of questions was piled up on their minds. On the front seat, Yuqeen sat quietly, but even she had three girls standing beside her.
One boy glared at Rayn and asked in an angry voice:— “Tell me one thing — what did Hanabirah see in you that she didn’t see in any of us?”
Another boy, annoyed but smirking mockingly, leaned in and said:— “You’re not even good-looking, and you’re not a royal either. So how did Hanabirah end up liking you?”
Rayn could feel the anger rising inside him, but he forced himself to stay calm — quietly listening to everything they said, saying nothing — as if his patience stretched far, far beyond their expectations.
The boys didn’t stop even for a moment. Another one, sounding jealous, asked:— “Why’re you quiet? Answer the questions we asked.”
Right in front of Rayn, the girls surrounding Yuqeen were asking her the same thing.
One of them acted dramatic, pretending to be disappointed:— “Hanabirah, why did you make Taqeesh your boyfriend? You could’ve gotten a way better guy if you wanted.”
Just like Rayn, Yuqeen was getting pissed too — but she held it in and replied calmly:— “I can make my own decisions. And you’re saying all this without even knowing what Rayn is really like.”
The students nearby heard Yuqeen’s words, so everyone paused and looked at her.
Trying to sound confident, Yuqeen added:— “Rayn stays quiet because he doesn’t want to hurt anyone with his words like you do. And you have no idea how gentle he actually is.”
After hearing that, frustration was clearly visible on the faces of several boys, and Rayn could sense the fear hidden in Yuqeen’s voice.
Right then, a boy with brown hair and green Eye's, slowly walked into the classroom. As soon as he stepped in, he said in a straight-up, unapologetic tone:— “I leave for a bit and y’all immediately find something useless to cling to… I know you don’t have anything better to do, but that doesn’t mean you should stick your noses into someone else’s personal business.”
His attitude alone made everyone stare at him. He continued firmly:— “Now everyone go sit in your own seats. If not, I won’t need even one second to report you to the principal.”
Hearing that, the whole class went silent. After a few seconds, no one tried to pick a fight anymore — they quietly went back to their seats.
