  “People of Avalon, for the final act I’m going to show you meteor magic. You’ll see how I use meteor to annihilate this entire place,” the mysterious man said.

  Spectators were all clapping and shouting in joy.

  “Oh ancient dragons, the most powerful of all dragons, give me your mana and magic to destroy Avalon. Meteor shower!” the mysterious man said as his hands were up towards the sky.

  Then 8 meteors began to fall from the sky. As they were about to touch the gathering crowd the 8 meteors turned into colorful light particles.

  All the pupils dilated seeing such marvelous spectacle. It wasn’t real meteor, just an illusion. Everyone clapped including Levi and gave coins in the mysterious man’s upside-down hat. Levi gave some coins as well.

  After walking for a while he saw a little girl.

  The girl stood alone in the middle of the street, barefoot, wearing a pure white dress. She was staring straight at Levi with completely black eyes—no whites at all. She tilted her head and smiled.

  ‘Is this a new makeup and costume in this world,’ Levi thought as he was confused and frightened.

  From the looks of it she was selling flowers. But there was no one to buy any flowers from her. Levi bought a bouquet. It had different kinds of flowers. It looked like a rainbow bouquet. Levi gave the girl generous number of coins. It put an unfiltered smile on the girl’s face.

  Levi started heading out to the guild again. At last Levi finally reached the guild and went straight to Healer Lily.

  “Hi, Miss Lily. How are you?” Levi said with a gentle smile as he gave the bouquet to Miss Lily.

  “Thank you, Levi. I’m fine. What brings you here? Have you come with deep wounds by being reckless like Derek?” Healer Lily said in a cold voice.

  “No… I… went to the forest on my own for the first time. I hunted a swift rabbit. I heard it’s rare and need a healer to cook it for me,” Levi said.

  “What! A swift rabbit on your first hunt!! Levi, give me some of your luck too. How did you manage to hunt it? They are extremely fast and cautious,” Healer Lily said in excitement.

  “I got lucky I guess. I saw the rabbit jumping from one place to another. It didn’t notice me. I targeted it with my crossbow. Could you cook it for me, Miss Lily,” Levi said with a warm smile.

  “Uhh you do need a healer to cook it. I’m researching a new potion for fast healing. I’m really busy with the research. If you can get me the ingredients for my research I can help you,” Healer Lily said.

  “Where would I find them? What are the ingredients?” Levi asked.

  “The ingredients are three white fruits, one black mushroom, and five rainbow fruits of the tiny tree. They are rare in this season. You can find them in the west of the forest.”

  “Actually I’ve gone there by myself but couldn’t find them in the dense forest since they are so tiny,” Healer Lily said.

  “Alright. I’ll try my best to find them,” Levi said.

  “Oh, I forgot to tell you these are the same ingredients that you’ll need to cook the swift rabbit. So bring six white fruits, two black mushrooms, and five rainbow fruits instead,” Miss Lily said.

  Levi quickly left the guild and went to the west of the forest. He started searching for the ingredients.

  But it wasn’t that easy.

  Even after searching for a long time he couldn’t find a single ingredient.

  Levi sat down and began to think how to find the ingredients. It’s going to get dark soon.

  He has to return quickly. Because only high-ranking adventurers are allowed in the forest after dark for safety reasons.

  Levi was determined to find the ingredients no matter what. He didn’t want to return empty-handed.

  He started to look around. He noticed the forest was more dense as he was walking towards the deep forest. Levi decided he will enter the deep forest.

  ‘Nothing risked nothing gained after all. Since less people enter the deep forest I might find the ingredients there,’ Levi thought in his mind.

  Levi had heard that there’s no ingredients you can’t find in the deep forest. But most people are scared to enter it. After walking for a while Levi entered the deep forest. His heart was beating fast from a mix of excitement and fear.

  This was the place he first saw when he woke up in this fantasy world. Levi noticed the trees were much taller here.

  The trees were so tall that they blocked the sun. The deep forest was pin-drop silent with the occasional howling of unknown monsters.

  Levi quietly started to search for the ingredients. Levi saw different kinds of fruits and flowers.

  ‘I wish I was a healer now. Then I could tell which fruits and ingredients are valuable. I could have earned a fortune by selling them,’ Levi thought in his mind.

  Levi saw a blood-red flower in the distance. It was as if the flower was calling out to him. Levi went close to the flower.

  He saw blood-like liquid dropping from the blood-red flower. It was as if the flower was bleeding red like a wounded woman.

  Levi noticed three black mushrooms near the blood-red flower.

  “Finally. Looks like it was worth it to come here,” Levi said.

  He took the mushrooms and put them in his bag. He began to search for the rest of the ingredients.

  As he was searching he heard a screaming of a young girl.

  “Someone… anybody… save… me!!”

  Levi quickly followed the young girl’s voice. But Levi was cautious because he wasn’t a high-ranking adventurer yet. When attacking, the element of surprise was his best bet.

  Levi hid behind tall and wide trees as he witnessed a young girl the same age as him lying on the ground, facing a twelve-foot-tall monster who was approaching her, dragging a huge axe in the ground, “Grunchhh…”
