“Trade is the king of the economy. Throughout history, people found ways to trade. When all you knew was a small village, the economy was poor and there was little to trade. When a class of people came to be for the sole people trading between villages, the economy grew. The village, as an idea, could now specialize a little, as it didn’t need to cover all its own needs. It could trade for what it didn’t have, while selling what it was good at producing.
“Villages grew, became towns, and eventually cities. They supported far more people, and had many specializations. They traded with others farther afield. The more they traded, the greater they became. Warlords could control vast areas, but that control would fade with their passing. But companies dedicated to trade endured and amassed great power. The greatest company of all time was the East India Company. It lasted nearly three whole centuries. It controlled a huge area, and even had its own military. It was dedicated to trade.”
– Professor Farnsworth, Econ 101
I thought that life would settle down for a bit, but in the next week, Handy Hank asked for a meeting with Flamer, Soundbite, and I. He was leaving Summerlin to visit the area, and wanted to spend some time here in Sheridan. I offered my home, as I had the largest place, and everyone accepted.
Remembering the food he cooked, and how much he liked to cook, I asked Ysys if she could set up a similar setup at my place. I also had her stock it with some premium food and drink. Hank would be so surprised. I even splurged and installed a hard light roof to keep any rain off, should bad weather happen.
Tuesday morning, at ten, he arrived in a hovercar driven by Jordan Kendall. Flamer and Soundbite had arrived a few minutes earlier.
“Welcome, gentlemen. Do come in.” I led them into a conference room, where the others waited, and went to the built in bar. “Can I get you both a drink?”
They gave me their requests, and I had the bar supply them. Then we all gathered around the table. “Hank, as you requested the meeting, please take the head of the table. I’ll send everyone the room’s contact info.”
That done, we sat. A few moments later, the center of the table lit up with a map of the city and the surrounding area. “Samurai, this is your city. One of the things upper tier Samurai like myself do, is to get mid tier Samurai like yourself to guide new Samurai. Currently, Soundbite has taken this role for Sheridan. For years, he has worked with Flamer to guide new Samurai to get a path selected, and to come to grips with the awesome power the Protectors have shared with us.
“Calamity, you managed to find your way fairly quickly. So much so, that we were barely able monitor you before you exploded in power at Vegas. What I saw there was an instinctive ability to lead, so I had Soundbite and Flamer hang back and let you go to see how you would grow. I was kept up to date, in case something needed to be done. Then your leadership exploded with the Rock Springs crisis. You found Storm Lord and mentored him nicely; as well and herded a number of Samurai into working together to evacuate that city.
“It quickly became clear to me that you were destined for something greater that caring for a single city. You since maintained contact with the Samurai of all eight cities, and again leveraged that to provide a significant defense against the threat of Phobos. I have spoken with others of my tier, and we all agree. It is time for you to grow your responsibility. This means that Flamer and Soundbite will now be part of your area of responsibility.”
“Wow. What would my responsibility be?”
“Anything that needs coordination between Samurai. As that can be like herding cats, charismatic and respected leaders, such as yourself, are known to do such herding. Can’t do ‘em all, but you can do more than most. Projects like the evacuation, and the defense against Phobos need coordination to prevent Samurai going against each other, and even more to keep tempers calm. The Family was created by Samurai, for Samurai. They have grown to have both Samurai and non-Samurai in their ranks. They are one of the more powerful tools in our toolkit to get Samurai to cooperate. Jordan, if you would?”
“Of course, Hank. Calamity, your recent rise has come to our attention, and we see the possibility of strengthening the cooperation of Samurai in the Plains region. Hank and I spoke about this last night, and we would like to formally ask you to become the area leader for the Family. Most Samurai work with us, and many work as members of the Family. If you accept, we will provide an office in town for your use, and also the support of staff and advisors from within the Family. As we cover most of North America, that includes thousands of experts we have on tap.
“We like to keep a light touch, so Samurai won’t tune us out. We ask that you keep track of all Samurai in your area in a general manner, and pass along your opinions of them and how they operate. Getting to know who they don’t mix with, and their preferred method of working, helps us when we need to assemble a team of Samurai for a project. Other times, when there is a desperate need, like with Phobos, we want you to encourage the reluctant Samurai under you to volunteer.”
“Just how large of an area are you talking about?”
Suddenly, the map of the city shrank, and other cities came in as the map zoomed out. Seven cities were circled. These were seven of the eight city alliance.
“As you can see, it is pretty much the same as the cities you recently coordinated with. Sioux City, Iowa, is not included, as it is already in another Samurai’s area.”
“That’s a lot to think about. Is there more?”
“Both of us want to speak with you some more, giving you a more detailed view of expectations and responsibilities. But that is about it, otherwise.”
“I see. I can understand why you wanted me, but what of the others?”
Hank answered, and said, “I’m making a tour of the area to learn about all the new Samurai. I figured mixing the two meetings would help you understand the overall picture better. Likewise Jordan wants to know the same for the Family’s files.”
“Oh. Um… Perhaps you can discuss that while I think about what you said? I too could use some detailed information about the Samurai of my own city. I’m not even sure I met them all yet.”
“That was pretty much our plan.”
We spend nearly two and a half hours talking about many things, when I realized I had heard several stomachs complain about the lack off food. There were minor munchies at the bar, but no one really took any. So I called a break.
“Excuse me, everyone. From the sound of our stomachs, it must be lunchtime. Shall we relocate to the patio, where lunch will occur?”
Everyone nodded, so I led. Just as I was about to go outside, I said, “Hank, I know you like to bar-b-queue, perhaps you could do something with my setup?”
He raised his eyebrow, and then exited to the patio. Immediately, he spotted the grill, and headed over to it. He quickly examined the glass faced fridge and open cupboard, then looked at me.
“This looks rather similar to my setup. Also, that food sure looks fresh. Care to explain?”
“You have hosted a lot of bar-b-queues at your place, and often it has been documented. I know Liberace interviewed you about it. Ysys scanned those documents and came up with a reasonable facsimile of your setup. As to the food, those buildings over there are farms for vegetables, fish, and other meats. Can’t get fresher than that. I know I enjoyed your cooking, and I felt you might like to be the first to use my stuff.”
I could tell he was trying to hide a smile, but he eventually failed, and said, “I’d be happy to, but on one condition.”
“And that is…?”
“You assist me, and I teach you a bit about real outdoor cooking.”
Well, looks like I have a new hobby to learn. I asked Ysys for a suitable apron, and joined Hank for my first cooking lesson. Fortunately, my hearing was good enough to hear the entire conversation the other three were having, and my brain enhancement let me focus on it and Hank’s lesson at the same time. While some food was served in a few minutes, Hank and I stayed and continued to cook. Twice, I had a drone bring out more plates and such, because Hank wanted to teach me quite a few items. I sampled everything, but some I ate more of.
The others also enjoyed the feast, and we created quite a pile of empty dishes. By the time we stopped making food, there was enough meat to eat for week. I offered the extra for the others to take, and wound up making up three piles of boxed leftovers for the others, and a pile twice as big for myself. Hank accepted only a small box of food.
Rather than head back in, we stayed outside and let the drones serve us drinks. Conversation slowly left the good food, and wandered back to our official topic. At some point, it started to rain, and everyone else was surprised we stayed dry. I just smiled, but said nothing when asked. In the end, I said I would give the job a try, and see if it fit me.
A week later, and I was in my new office checking out my new access into the Family’s computers. Procedural and historical stuff was fairly open and available. The existing reports on the Sheridan Samurai were also available, and I read them all, including the ones on me. While my report indicated my adult play as a potential issue with some, it was not deemed a significant issue.
When I looked into the Phobos issue, I got little more than what was publicly available. I did learn which Samurai were involved with the Big Gun project, and also who the representatives of the other two projects were. While I knew Mars was somehow affected by antithesis because they sent Phobos at us, I had not realized how powerful the Martian antithesis were, nor that Mars was essentially glassed to kill them. I had wondered if I should somehow support them, but given what they did, I don’t think I could do much at this point to help.
So I focused on the job, and started meeting all sorts of people. Some in person, many by video, and a few by simple calls on my augs. It took me about two weeks to figure out how I was going to connect with all the Samurai in my area. I spent fifty points on a social networking catalog, and another ten on an AI to map out how to approach each of them. During that time, I also practiced my new cooking skills.
I decided that I would travel for four days, then return to Sheridan for three. By now, I had property in most locations, and could get property that I could use at the rest. I made sure each property had a good place to meet, with a grill and suitable storage. When I arrived, I would pull out assorted food to place in the storage for the grill, and then meet the Samurai shortly before lunch.
This way, I could get to know them over a lunch of steak and veggies with cold beer. Yeah, not fancy, but despite Hank’s training, I’d only needed to practice one meal enough to get decent. At least I like eating steak and veggies. I had a ways to go to get good at multiple meals.
Steak and beer make for a good introduction, and sets them at ease, allowing us to get to know each other a bit. One of the things I show them is a printer they can use that is capable of handling any class one item. I tell them they I have made some blueprints available, and that they can buy their own blueprints as well.
Within the few hours with them, I am able to get a good read on them. Between Cuckoo’s Empathy, my observation, and my experience reading a person I had before becoming a Samurai, I gain a far more comprehensive understanding of them than from the Family records. After each meeting, I add some of the more important things I learned into their records.
In the evenings, I meet with the local team of my empire in a private room at some restaurant. I speak with them about their portion of my expansion project, and help smooth out any difficulties. It takes nearly three months to meet close to a hundred Samurai. Fortunately, I could often see several from the same city at the same time.
Once I finished that phase, I informed the Family that I would be taking a break from dangerous work as I was pregnant. Liberace invited me to do an interview to announce my pregnancy to the world, and to also announce an expansion of my financial empire. She decided that needed an in person half hour interview. In the first part, we spoke about my new construction empire, even as my enlarged belly was on display. The latter part was about my pregnancy, and all the details surrounding it.
Her fans were quite interested in the steps I took to ensure a healthy child. Liberace suggested I should make some of the technology available. I said I would look into it.
As expected, my pregnancy eclipsed the news I was expanding my empire. That news faded in less than a day. The turmoil in the forums about my pregnancy, and the tools I used went viral. It probably didn’t help that I commented a number of times about potential technological advances I could release. In the end, I made the scanner’s blueprint available on the printer list, and also added the scanner to the medical tools I sold. I sold the sequencer to make the gene therapies, but only to repair damage to the genes, not to improve the genes. I had to pay three thousand points to get the blueprints for it first.
Now that I had an economic presence in the eight cities, it was time to advance my latest plan for an official alliance of those cities. To that end, I had invested points in a political modeling AI and policy creation AI to aid in the design of a new political grouping. All of these cities were once part of the former United States of America, so they all remember being part of something larger. The biggest problem would be the corporations, and the amount of control they had.
Unauthorized tale usage: if you spot this story on Amazon, report the violation.
I wanted a way to allow much if not all of the existing local control to be untouched, and essentially make the collection of cities more of a federation than under one rule. I also wanted the other cities in the area to want to join in. By this time, I had several months of modeling, backed by some test rumors, on a workable solution.
Each city that joins will get a hex, three quarters donated to the city, one quarter to me. My quarter will house the farms, power plant, and other infrastructure. In their part of the hex, would be an Arc printer under control of the city’s government. They could print standard secure shelters and basic perimeter walls at a heavy discount. Infrastructure printing would be discounted. Otherwise, it would be added as another printer for the fee-based printing I offered. I expanded the blueprint list to include what I was commonly using in building my own hexes, but only for the Arc printers.
Part of joining, however, meant giving up some power. Nearly all in the inter-city trade, and antithesis defense areas. I then tailored descriptions of each of the eight cities to show how the alliance would operate for them with the treaty the AIs created. I wanted to be sure the uniqueness of each city remained as untouched as possible, while gaining a collective defense and trade environment.
Then came the big gamble. I sent a formal letter to the government of each of the eight cities suggesting an alliance. I described it in general terms, and asked to meet each one sometime in the next two months to discuss it in person. I also offered to meet informally remotely. Lastly, I asked for discretion, to avoid hysteria. As expected, within a week, the word had gotten out, and within another, so had copies of my letter. At least Sheridan and Gillette had initially met with me before the leaks.
I offered Liberace an interview to discuss my planned alliance, and she was on her way that evening. We did the interview the next morning.
Facing the camera, she said, “Good morning fans. I’m here with Calamity Jane live, and we will talk about this new alliance idea she has.” She then looked at me and continued, “In a nutshell, tell us your idea.”
“Many people have learned about the former United States of America, and how powerful a nation it once was. The antithesis changed that. I think it is time we took back our strength from the antithesis, and that means binding ourselves into a greater whole.”
“But the culture has changed so much. Corporations control much of government. The cities are used to being on their own. How will this all work?”
“The alliance will do its best to leave the internal working of government alone. So if a corporation runs a city, it will continue to do so after joining. If one person rules, or a council or board rules, that will not change. What will change is the relationship between cities. Trade will be the one most people notice. The other will be a common defense.
“Right now, there are eight cities that took in the evacuees from Rock Springs. These cities thus have a common factor. I want to leverage that to bring them back together, and restore some of what they lost. The defense against Phobos was very last minute. Thanks to a lot of hard work, we pulled it off. That can be leveraged into a common defense. And to sweeten the deal, I am throwing in a hex worth of expansion for the city.”
“That’s wonderful. Do you think it will actually work?”
“I think it has a fair chance of succeeding. The AIs I had working on it indicate a long term growth for every city in the alliance, due to improved stability of the economy, and to new opportunities created by joining. You already know I do a lot of building. Now, those who join will gain that benefit.”
We went over many aspects, and I described a number of things I had already researched for the sales pitch to each city government. Not all, but I wanted to build some pressure for them to hear me out, and to take my deal. Then she opened it up to questions from long term fans of her stream. It took almost half an hour before the first fan let a ‘friend’ ask a question. Hope they were well paid for the access. We finished the interview after three hours. Liberace stayed for lunch, and I served bar-b-queued fish, rather than steak. By now, I had enough practice, I thought it was good enough for a good friend.
A week later, Cowboy Bob showed up on my doorstep. He told me the head corporation that ran his city’s government wanted some detailed answers, and he figured it would be nicer to visit for a while. As he hadn’t rented a room yet, I offered a spare bedroom at my place. He wound up staying for nearly a week, and moved into my bedroom halfway through.
After he left, I considered an idea he had. Could I make an instant hex? That is, could I bring to a location enough to generate a bare bones hex in a short amount of time. So I asked the City Builder AI what would be needed to generate a hex’s worth of construction in a short amount of time. Over the next month the plan for the hex changed a number of times as I kept changing the final requirements.
As the plans changed, I added Ysys to the planning, as I decided that opening some catalogs and buying blueprints would be helpful. The final plan was for a self contained hex with AA defenses, the three standard farms and corresponding processing plant, a pair of power plants, water, sewer, communication and other required infrastructure needed by a city. There would be two Arc printers, one for the government, and one for myself.
It would also have a Cyber installation on my portion, and some other goodies I wasn’t going to mention. For the city side, there would be short megabuildings with housing, office space, recreational space, commercial space, and secure shelters. Over half the space would be empty, to allow for future growth. Likewise the megabuildings would also allow for future upward growth from the initial ten floors to one hundred. Ideally, the hexes would share a wall with the existing city.
Also during this time, there was a lot of discussion about the benefits of an alliance. I was subtly guiding this by suggesting various policies for the final agreement. Following the AIs instructions, I went somewhat overboard on most of these, so that I could compromise to a position that the AI had already decided would be best for all. As time went on, the suggested agreement became closer and closer to the AI agreement. I helped push Sheridan and Gillette to this, as they both had at some point decided this was a good thing. I also wanted an initial agreement that was the closest I could get, so that I could have other cities join without all the policy debate.
One of the questions about the alliance was what to name it. However, once the name Rock Springs Alliance was proposed, all other names started to fade. Six months, to the day, Sheridan and Gillette formally signed acceptance of the agreement, and the alliance was born. Three of the remaining six cities looked about ready, but needed another two months before they were added to the alliance.
It was while I was creating the last of the hexes for the current signers, that I had to take time off for the birth of my daughter. I chose the name Sherry, as it was a family name several of my ancestors had. In recognition of the fact her birth was the first in that hex’s first hospital, the city decided to name it Calamity Care Center. This played on my Samurai name being about trouble for which the hospital would give care, but also to being the name of the mother of the first birth there. In return, I donated some extra hospital equipment as a thank you.
Within days, I had a baby bag, but it was actually a second hammerspace ring. At first I thought breastfeeding would be difficult, and perhaps cause soreness, but it didn’t. Ysys explained that my body was well equipped to handle the wear and tear of feeding Sherry. Of course, Liberace wanted an interview. I let her hold Sherry for a bit. About half an hour into the live interview, I realized Sherry was hungry. While I had a cover in the ring I could have used to hide breastfeeding her, I had the naughty thought to not use it, allowing everyone to see me doing it.
So when I asked for Sherry so I could feed her, I put her near where she had to go, then popped out my breast. She latched on after a brief moment, but I just acted like it was normal. Liberace’s eyes got big briefly, but then I saw a tiny grin, as she decided to play into it. She also acted like it was normal, and shifted the conversation to how healthy breastfeeding is for a child. Later, when she was full, I pulled out a towel and threw it over the other shoulder and moved her to burp her. Once that happened, I placed her in a drone crib. As I sat up, if finally covered up. The whole time, Liberace was staring, and with a grin leaking out more and more.
Eventually, Liberace said, “And done. What an interview. You were so hot. And then you just exposed yourself to feed her as though there was no thought. That’s gonna spike the ratings. Already, there’s a raging debate about public feeding of infants. Thanks so much.”
“Won’t the controversy hurt your ratings?”
“For some, yeah, but for most, its going to expand my audience. While feeding a child is no big deal, a Samurai doing it openly while streaming is a big deal. I doubt you will get any new blow-back, as you’re already known to be a big tease. In addition, this will add fuel to the controversy over the lack of a father figure.”
“Do you think that is a problem?”
“Not at this time in her life. Right now, she is not social at all. Her needs are eat, sleep, and poop. She’ll add exploration, once she discovers her legs and arms. I can hardly wait to see a kid proofed Samurai home.”
“Yeah, I’ve already started that. There’s a lot more to do, so I am initially limiting where she goes within my homes. But my hammerspace ring means I can bring a lot of stuff with me. I think I paid points for half the stuff in there because of the sudden need.”
“Really? Have you spent a lot of points?”
“Not really. Class zero stuff costs a pittance, and I often wind up with sets or collections of stuff. I think I spent more points on the baby drone blueprints. While I’m not hyper about her safety, the drone has a lot of safety and care features. For instance, it tracks the baby hammerspace ring, so that it stays close to it. Now I don’t have to worry about pushing it around like more traditional baby strollers. Likewise, it tracks things like the end of feeding, and knows to position itself to receive the baby in a position convenient to me. It has underside lighting for nighttime travel, a minor hard light shield to keep her dry in the rain and shaded in bright sun, and so on. Think I should market it?”
“If you weren’t going to sell it, why get the blueprints?”
“I get blueprints for everything these days. I have the points, so why not. It also makes it easier if I want to make another.”
“Well, it’s a rich people thing. Be sure you're marketing it as a luxury item. So. You have a lot of points. What’s your next project for all those points?”
“Well, since I have a larger area to cover, I want to get from place to place faster. While the dragonfly serves, it also kind of needs to stay to support its PMC and that means near Sheridan. Another project is figuring out how to quickly create a defensible hex. Then there is making inter-city trade and transportation happen faster and safer. The real kicker is how many tokens I have. Ysys indicated I am at a new tier boundary, so I need to handle what that will require.”
“A new tier? You mean like Handy Hank?”
“I don’t know. Only tier three and up went to mars, but some didn’t go for whatever reason. I’m not sure what I could have done. My upper end is about mid to low on the Martian scale of antithesis, and I tend to be single target, whereas there it was waves of antithesis. However, I could do a support role. With all my printers, I could provide a lot of support.”
“That you could. Perhaps you might find another location that could use your support closer to home.”
“Hmmm… You’re right. I’ll look into that and get back to you.”
“Well, on that note, I’m off to do some more interviews in the area. See you ‘round.”
I escorted her to my door, and after she left, I asked, “Ysys, Is she right? Are there places that I could really help with my hexes here on Earth?”
Yes. The most obvious being the oceans. But that needs to be later in the game, when there is far more support for underwater activities. Perhaps closer to home is the far north, where no one lives. While there is no one to contest them, there also isn’t much resources for them either. You could practice there.
I was thunderstruck. I could head north and work empty land to my heart’s content. But what would I need to place there to keep it free of antithesis?
“Ysys, I think I would need an armed fortress. Perhaps like a Fortress of Solitude. It might have a lot of people assigned there, but it wouldn’t be a city. Not really. Do I have anything in my catalogs suitable to designing such a place?”
Yes. The City Building catalogs have assorted wilderness outposts. They range from simple trading posts to military hard-points, and in all environments, even underwater. But that last requires a significant underwater humanoid presence to be practical. What did you have in mind?
“I want an antithesis free zone in say a hundred mile radius. Capable of destroying an incursion before it lands, as well as models into the thirties. Drone based mobile attack, energy based stationary attack. Environmental comfort within the habitable area, and portable work bubbles. Essentially a shirt sleeve work environment. Full mesh bandwidth, as well as luxurious recreation. Full automation for maintenance of the fortress, and accommodations for ten thousand with space to grow to one million. In some ways a grounded spaceship.”
Funny you should mention that. Were you to open Class III for both Armored Assault Vehicles and City Building for Humanoids, there are actually city ships designed for contested space. Making a grounded one would be rather easy with those catalogs. And before you ask, that’s fifty thousand and forty thousand points respectively, along with three tokens each. What you are asking for falls on the small end of the available ships.
“That’s so cool. Wait a second. Can you make it look like Superman’s fortress in the movie? But only from the outside. Okay to have some areas inside like it as well, but most should be more Earth style.”
Which movie version?
Ysys sent me a bunch of images to look through. Ten minutes later, I had selected one. “Um, it shouldn’t be difficult for people to use, but if you can keep up the theme, that would be great.”
Can do. The Fortress of Solitude is forty two thousand points. What about auxiliary craft?
“Can I adapt my blueprints for attack craft to handle the environment?”
Technically they can, but you can get blueprints for an Environmental Adaptation Kit for twelve hundred points. For an added power drain, the vehicle would be enclosed in an environmental shell that maintains comfort levels within the vehicle. It would not act as armor in any way.
“Let’s do it. Wait, if I want to make the exterior of another fortress different, will it cost extra?”
No. The blueprint is actually a series, with a customization AI to allow aesthetic changes, and rearrangement of components. This allows it to be customized for the race, and also for the cultural and physical needs of the race. As docking is a major function, it also can be customized. Permanent parking is just always docked.
“If I use the dragonfly to deliver cargo, can I get enough there to get the ship capable of defending itself within a day, while printing the remainder for as long as needed?”
No. But you could get an armored cargo transport with sufficient capacity by way of dimensional pockets. For example, a YT-1300fp Corellian freighter configured with dimensional pocket cargo holds would be able to hold enough of the city ship per your requirement. It also has sufficient armor and weaponry to handle anything into the twenties. It also has external matter redistribution rigs capable of creating its own landing pad. All for the low price of thirty five thousand points, unless you don’t want to reuse your existing blueprints.
Once Ysys showed me the image of the ship I had to get it. But I wanted to push it a bit further. “Can I get that YT with something better than a mere hover engine? It looks like it should be able to go into space. I have the gravitational catalog. Perhaps some sort of engine that can accelerate it at one g?”
Not quite, the SRB32 engine is capable of generating up to point four g for days at a time. However, the SRB42 engine in the class three catalog can produce ten times that amount. Your reinforced body would be fine, but most people would not like it. Two g would be considered the most for sustained acceleration for others. As a side effect, some of that gravitational power can be channeled inside to create artificial gravity. That catalog is fifteen thousand points and three tokens, and the SRB42 engine another six thousand. You would also need to add a mid range power plant, at least, to power it.
“I’ve got to do it. But first, I need to make another hanger for it, and for staging everything. Does my enclave have an unclaimed area large enough I could put it here?”
Yes, easily. With the psychological smell of the farms and processing plant, there is sufficient open space to set it up and have clearance to fly in and out.
“Okay. Here’s the plan. Hook up a type three hologram of a locked warehouse hiding everything inside. Then have a construction spider print an Arc, which will print the YT and its initial cargo. Have spider crew deliver mass to the Arc, but do it late at night. I don’t anyone knowing anything about it until it’s ready to launch.”
Opened Class III Armored Assault Vehicles catalog – 50000 points, 3 tokens
Opened Class III City Building for Humanoids catalog – 4000 points, 3 tokens
Opened Class III Gravitational Effects catalog – 15000 points, 3 token
Blueprints for City Ship (Fortress of Solitude) – 420000 points
Blueprints for YT-1300fp Corellian freighter – 350000 points
Blueprints for SRB42 engine – 60000 points
Blueprints for Environmental Adaptation Kit – 1200 points
New Total – 1,731,765 points, 9 tokens
“That city catalog seems quite inexpensive.”
Everything is set up. It will take nearly a month to get everything ready. Might I suggest getting some long range scout swarms? As for the one catalog, that’s a benefit of using unpopular catalogs. Another benefit of the YT is that it can also deliver instant hexes for new alliance members. Same amount of prep time, but less assembly time once delivered, since it is smaller than a city ship.
That’s enough for today. I have more baby proofing to do here.
