6:14am
I- I did it.
I didn’t hear any noise from the auto shop… so I opened the door.
Nobody. Jumpsuit guy/zombie was gone. I found a knife.
I decided to check outside from the garage door, it was all clear except for a dy wearing a blood-soaked headband.
She fell over the chain-link fence across the parking lot and started walking toward me.
Next thing I know, I stabbed her in the head, between the eyes.
I was just doing like I saw in movies, okay?!
I-It worked? But the knife is… oh god, it was stuck in her forehead.
She fell. She stopped moving.
I know she’s dead, but like, I stabbed someone!
Oh god… I, I just need a minute. I’m gonna stay in the office.
10:14am
I feel so gross.
I washed my hands in the autoshop bathroom sink like fifty times.
It’s March, it’s still cold outside, and today it’s cold as fuck.
The dy or- the zombie I killed, she was wearing sweat pants, a sweater.
Better clothes than I got. A t-shirt and skirt won’t protect me from the cold.
I…
I dragged her body into the auto shop.
I know how that sounds. It sounds like serial killer behavior. BUT HEAR ME OUT-
Almost threw up pulling that knife out of her head to remove her clothes better.
The clothes are fine… I got changed in the bathroom, I’m definitely warmer at least.
They smell of perfume and cigarettes.
Honestly, I feel like I’m one kill away from being a chain-smoker myself.
5:19pm
I’m tired.
I’ve been walking for so long, it’s crazy.
But, it was either I go down the street to the left and try to navigate through all the crashed cars and zombies lingering around, or I go to the right where the stretch of road is barren.
It was an obvious choice, in my opinion.
The road was quiet, no wandering zombies. Eventually I came across the sign that shown me where to go next. The next town over is Red Vine, where I used to go to high school.
At the very least, I’ll know where things are and maybe I might even find someone I know, if they’re still around.
Everything was fine until I reached near the end of the road. There was a car crash blocking me.
Just… bodies everywhere.
Two cars collided and a group of six or seven of these guys were hovering around it. I had no choice but to cut into the woods on the right and go a long way around them.
Half way during my mission impossible quest, I needed to go to the bathroom.
I’m like, what? Right now? I’M KINDA BUSY NOT DYING?
My organs were all: ‘yeah, me too bitch, empty us or you’ll really die!’
So yeah, got that over with. Not fun.
On the way down further, I found a maintenance shed off the side of the road that was left open.
It’s so cold out, I can’t afford getting sick from being out here so long, so I took the chance to look around.
Gd I did! I found some useful tools and put them in my backpack. A saw, a box of nails and screws. I even found a hard hat in one of those lockers in there, and one of those covid masks.
I mean, it’s already a little too te for a mask but hey, I’ll take it.
For now, I’ll just stay in this shed.
I’m absolutely exhausted, I can’t walk anymore.
It took me like two minutes to write each sentence from how my hands are shaking.
After a lovely nap on this concrete floor, I’ll make my way into town.
