Northberry Lore

  Land Division of Deer Point

Deer Point, one of the last surviving Floating Islands, is sharply divided by power, legacy, and blood. Though once unified, the island fractured over the centuries into distinct territories, each ruled by vastly different forces.

  L Bacteria Territory – 30%

A grotesque, decayed region known as the Bleeding Rotlands, ruled by King L, the monstrous sovereign of the L-Strain Bacteria. This land is a warped reflection of life itself, dark skies, twisted buildings, crawling walls, and grotesque bacteria beasts wander endlessly. The L-Strain thrives in this corrupted biome, pushing ever forward to consume more land and sink the island.

  Zoner Territory – 30%

The heart of the people. Though they possess only a fraction of the land, they tend to overpopulate. The Zoners are marginalized citizens who survive on artificial resources and green water, relying on converter machines to turn trash into food. Miraculously, their territory is shielded by an Abi-formed Divine Barrier, an unbreakable dome believed to be either a remnant of a Fallen Artist's sacrifice or the direct will of God. This barrier has saved the Zoners countless times, preventing the bacteria from overtaking their land.

Royal Territory – 40% A heavily fortified, elevated sector where the Royal Family and cyborg elite reside. Lush, advanced, and resource-rich, this land controls the flow of water, medicine, and food for the entire island. It holds the majority of Deer Point's population. They wield nearly all of the political and technological power. King Mr. Green currently occupies the throne under false pretenses, secretly plotting to drill into the Abi Core through the Bleeding Rotlands and crash Deer Point into the Surface.

Humans as Demi-Gods and the Sacred Alliance

Despite the island's separation from the surface world, humans have come to dwell on Deer Point – and the animal tribes regard these humans as divine agents or demi-gods. In the animals' theology, humans carry a spark of the Creator's essence, destined to help save the world from impending doom. This conviction fosters deep respect and a powerful alliance between beast and human.

To the tribes, then, humans are not only friends but sacred protectors, benevolent demi-gods walking among them. This belief shapes every interaction: the animals eagerly share their knowledge and resources with the humans, granting them the best of their lands and following their guidance as one would follow a favored child of the gods. Far from being viewed with suspicion, the humans are welcomed as the prophesied partners of the animal folk. Legends passed down by the beasts even suggest that this is the natural order, in many myths, animals aid chosen humans at pivotal moments, reinforcing the idea of a blessed partnership. (For instance, in North American folklore the trickster Coyote secured vital gifts like fire and daylight for humanity acting as a benefactor to people.) Inspired by such tales, Deer Point's inhabitants see it as their sacred duty to support the human "demi-gods." By doing so, they believe they fulfill the Creator's plan and pave the way toward saving all of creation from whatever darkness looms.
