This is the first behind-the-scenes for In a Realm of Their Own and as such it will be pretty different from future behind-the-scenes posts. There are no characters to track yet. There is no ongoing scenario or arc I need to apprise you of so we can skip past all of that.

  I want to go over the yout I pn on using for future behind-the-scenes posts.

  First, there will be a “previously on” section to help you get back up to speed if it ends up being awhile between my posts or if you take a break from this series.

  Next, will be a short informational “world bible” section where I will try to foresee questions you may have as you read the main post. Such as character detail, locations, factions and any other metadata pertaining to the ongoing plot point.

  Finally, there will be an author’s notes section, which is optional. It will probably have spoilers and insights into where the story is going and into my writing process. I will warn you before you venture into that territory, in case you aren’t interested in that and want to read the story without burdening yourself with my expectations.

  Before we transition to that stage of the behind the scenes, I want to warn you, one st time, that you probably should pass up this version of this story and come back when the “final” draft is complete. I don’t want to say it will be a waste of your time, but it probably will be. Not only is it not as polished as I would expect of stories I read, but it also will probably jump between genres. There will be slice of life transitioning into more standard LitRPG action, maybe transition into a mutated space opera, and who knows what beyond that… I sure don’t.

  Here is your spoiler warning. Leave if you don’t want a glimpse inside my head as to the “real” behind-the-scenes.

  For those wondering where this story is going, here is my best idea and expectations for the first five arcs as of writing this behind-the-scenes after just having completed the rough draft for scene 5.3.

  SpoilerArc 1–The first arc will be a survival, homesteading and base building arc. It will be very slice of life.

  Arc 2-The second arc will transition towards exploring but will still have its fair share of slice of life homesteading and base building moments.

  Arc 3-This arc will see the protagonist return to Earth. I imagine it will be the most action packed arc yet with a lot of intrigue and maneuvering among the rich and powerful of Earth.

  Arc 4-Well, this arc is where things start to really get epic on a gactic scale. Things are likely to change and this arc will probably be very different by the time we get this far. Heck, I’m only maybe 10% into writing the rough draft of the first arc, so even that might change quickly.
