Chapter 718
The discussion during the break from watching Avatar: The Way of Water was just as intense as the discussion that happened after they watched the first Avatar film. Anton was a little flabbergasted that the forest elves were showing rage against the humans who wanted to conquer Pandora. Some elves played the devil’s advocate, telling everyone that when your planet was dying, it would not matter if the other species considered you an enemy as long as you found a place where your race could survive.
It was different when the “Sky People” were only after wealth. The forest elves and the Brownie folks truly considered them as invaders, but when it was a matter of life and death for your entire species, then it was a different matter.
After Anton observed the discussion, he realized that the elves and the brownies did not really believe that the movie was real but were immersing themselves in the story as a form of entertainment. Because of that, he joined the discussion and argued with them as well.
Anton then told everyone, with a deep contemplation on his face, that after exploring the northern forest and the kingdom of Enundia, he might try to find a place that looked like the sea clan’s place from the second Avatar film. The fact that he could survive underwater because of the Water Breathing spell and that his physical stats would allow him to dive deep without much issue meant that he could fully explore the deep sea to his heart’s content.
The elves and the brownies who heard what he said looked at him in envy.
“It's so nice to be so young and powerful,” one of the elves said with a sigh.
After the break, they all proceeded to watch the third film in the franchise. Anton was still focused on recording the expressions of the forest elves and the brownies since he had seen the films several times already. He was truly entertained watching the audience’s faces, especially when they did not know that they were being watched. Anton felt a little naughty doing so, and he knew that everyone would probably be angry at him if they learned what he was doing.
In truth, Anton was just treating the situation as if he was watching movie reaction videos from the most famous streaming website.
The fact was, Anton and everyone else truly enjoyed the films and were treating the three movies as one long movie. He knew that if the situation were the same on Earth, wherein they had to wait for years for the second and third films, the reactions to the film would be different.
According to what Anton had read from the internet, there was already a plan in place for the fourth and fifth Avatar films, but he did not share that information with anyone since there was still a chance that the plan would be cancelled. Another reason was that it would be years before the fourth and fifth movies would be released.
“I’ve heard from the elder that you plan to leave tomorrow,” One of the elves said while they were eating dinner after the last movie ended.
If you stumble upon this tale on Amazon, it's taken without the author's consent. Report it.
Anton simply nodded and shared that he still planned to go to the kingdom of Enundia, but that he was not in a rush and would travel slowly through the forest. When the elves asked why, he simply told them that he was in the process of exploring the world for growth.
“Since you are not in a rush, can we invite you to our kingdom? It’s only three days from here,” One of the forest elves asked.
First of all, Anton was surprised that the forest elves had an actual kingdom inside the northern forest. No one shared that information with him. Second, since his main goal of traveling through the forest was to explore, he agreed immediately.
Anton knew that the main reason why he was being invited was that the elves wanted to share the films they had just seen with their friends and family. He was not averse to doing that. There was a chance that if the forest elves truly got invested, the family would be allowed to open a cinema branch in their kingdom.
Terun and his family were sad that Anton would be leaving them the next day, but they knew already that he was only staying with the brownies for a few days. Dinner that night turned into a full-blown party. That meant that for the last few days, the Brownies had held parties every night. It would show that they had the resources to do so.
After a few more hours, Anton finally left with Terun and his family to return to their dwelling to rest, since he would be leaving early the next day to join the forest elves in returning to their kingdom.
Before he left the party, the elves kept promising Anton that he would not regret visiting their kingdom. He could sense that the elves truly wanted to invite him. The impact of the films was great since he learned from Terun that the humans who were allowed to visit their kingdom in the past one hundred years could be counted on one hand.
Once they were home, Terun’s kids asked for more stories from him regarding his days exploring the ocean, so he told them that during the first time he tried to explore the sea near New Drennor, he actually found a ship full of treasure. The treasure allowed him to earn a good amount of coins.
Terun and his family were good audience. They were excited to hear his stories, and Anton could see in their faces that they were envious of his ability to explore the deep sea. He knew, though, that the Brownies were true homebodies. Even if they had the ability like his, he was sure that they would stay inside the forest. It was easy to imagine a life exploring the world, but the brownie folks were tied to their forest. Still, there was nothing wrong with imagining a different life through movies, and that was why Anton liked sharing the films with friends he met along the way.
Soon, they allowed Anton to rest, so he entered his room and decided to level up his Diablo characters first until he got tired enough to sleep. His progress in his system was good enough that Anton did not feel guilty about his exploration. He felt that he achieved his goal of balancing his desire to explore the world and his need to continue making sure that he would not neglect his system because, currently, it was the surest way to increase his power.
The next day, Anton prepared himself to join the elves in returning to their forest kingdom, or stronghold, or whatever they call their place inside the northern forest. They planned to leave before noon. The brownies gave a lot of gifts to Anton, from food to their handicraft. He accepted them all since he knew that the Brownie would feel sad if he declined. Thankfully, his inventory was humongous. Besides, all of the things that Brownies gave him were good items. The food was delicious, and he could use the arts and crafts for enchanting purposes.
He waited for the forest elves to finalize their trade with the Brownies, and soon, they told him that it was time for them to leave. Anton did know what to expect regarding their mode of travel, but the elves simply started running. The snow was not a hindrance to them. Thankfully, Anton could fly using his Telekinesis spell, so he just flew beside them.
