The story takes place 15 years after a cataclysmic event known only as "The Fallen" wiped out most of humanity. No one knows exactly what happened, or what civilization was like before, but what they do know is that what ever "The Fallen" was, it left something behind, something the remainder of humanity must defeat if they are to reclaim their planet.
