Chapter 77: New Actress Ignites the Trending Charts

Buddha Jumps Over the Wall stew paired with jasmine tea could be considered the highest standard of hospitality in their home.

Chris ate while nodding in praise: "Delicious, better than what many restaurants make."

Audrey sat across from him, watching him cautiously. With every bite he took, she instinctively felt a pang of worry.

"Mom, stop staring at Uncle Chris like that. He already said it's delicious, yet you still look so anxious," Grace said softly upon seeing this.

Chris looked up upon hearing this, catching Audrey awkwardly averting her gaze. She shot her daughter a glare before saying, "I'm afraid he might be allergic."

  "Haha..."

Chris immediately laughed out loud and hurriedly explained, "Don't worry, I'm not allergic to seafood. My allergen is 'chia seeds'."

  "Chia seeds?"

Everyone was momentarily stunned, then couldn't help but exchange glances, thinking to themselves what an obscure allergen.

Chris pulled out a tissue, elegantly wiped his mouth, and stood up. He said to Audrey, "Thank you for your hospitality, Ms. Dorothy. It was delicious."

  "You're welcome."

As it was already quite late, Chris bid farewell once again. Audrey warmly saw him to the door and nodded in parting.

Only after Chris left did the tension Audrey had been holding fully ease.

Turning back, she looked at her two children with a helpless expression: "You two, really. Mr. Cavendish is a big boss. How could we just casually ask someone like that to stay for dinner?"

"So what?" Grace blinked, her expression nonchalant: "He didn't eat any less."

Tony also chimed in: "Exactly. Delicious is delicious. It wouldn't taste bad just because he's a big boss."

Audrey shook her head somewhat speechlessly. Still, regarding today's blind date, they really owed it to Mr. Cavendish. Otherwise, who knows how long the ordeal would have dragged on?

She went to clear the bowls and chopsticks to clean the kitchen. Seeing this, Grace quickly pulled her mother back: "Mom, leave it. I'll wash them later. I need to tell you something."

Audrey looked at her daughter, puzzled: "What is it?"

"My sister is leaving early the day after tomorrow," Tony spoke up first.

"The day after tomorrow? Isn't it the National Day holiday?"

Grace nodded and explained her sister's current situation to her mother.

Audrey listened and couldn't help but nod gently: "That is indeed important business. Chloe has always had a gentle personality and limited experience. I'd feel much more at ease if you went."

Grace knew her mother would definitely support her. It was just that she felt somewhat guilty about going back on her word to leave after the holiday: "I said I would spend more time with you..."

  Stolen novel; please report.

"Ah, enough of that..." Audrey, hearing her daughter's tone, quickly cut her off with feigned impatience: "None of that. You've been back for several days already, and I'm starting to get a bit annoyed. Leaving now is perfect."

As she finished speaking, the phone rang.

"It must be your grandma, about to nag me again," Audrey sighed impatiently. Before turning to go inside, she didn't forget to instruct Grace: "Wash the bowls and wipe the kitchen clean."

Grace smiled, looking at her mother's retreating, then turned and commanded Tony: "You go!"

  Tony pouted: "I knew it."

'Destined to be Queen' film set.

  Makeup Room No. 3.

"What is the promotions department doing? Why haven't they released any promotional photos of me yet? Why!"

Veronica held her phone. On the screen were the third batch of promotional stills released by the crew that day. Many fans of the original work and the actress were refreshed at 9 a.m., hoping to see the first behind-the-scenes glimpses of their favorites.

But Veronica, the female lead number two, discovering that the third batch of crew promotional photos still wasn't of her, immediately flew into a rage.

She glared furiously at her assistant Alice, demanding, "The first batch was Jennifer and Gavin, the second was Bunnie and Alan. The third batch should be mine, right?"

"What is this? Why is it Bryan and Chloe? Why are they promoting the male lead number three and the female lead number four? How did you communicate with the promotions department?"

Everyone on the team knew Veronica's temper—when she got angry, it was apocalyptic. The first to suffer was always her assistant Alice, as these matters were usually Alice's responsibility.

Alice hung her head, looking terrified, and explained in a low voice: "I mentioned it to the promotions department, hoping they'd release our photos in the second batch. They just said they'd consider it. I thought since promotions are handled by our 'Golden Joe Media', being from the same company, they'd surely favor us. I don't know why it turned out like this."

"You don't know, so why aren't you going to ask right now?" Veronica roared: "What do I keep you all for!"

Alice shrank back in fright and quickly nodded: "Okay, I'll go ask right away."

Veronica was furious. She had been delighted with that set of promotional photos, especially the promo shots with Will. Her team had even planned to use the opportunity to stir up some buzz with him, to attract some shipper fans. Yet now, she hadn't even gotten a chance to show her face.

She knew that after joining the crew, there had been little opportunity for exposure for over half a year. She was counting on these promotional photos to get her face in front of the audience. If others had them and she didn't, her fans could easily be drawn away over time. People might even forget she was in this drama.

The more she thought about it, the angrier she got, and the angrier she got, the more panicked she felt. Especially as she scrolled through today's promotional posts for Bryan and Chloe, seeing the flood of positive comments, she grew jealous and red-eyed.

Especially with Chloe. In the photos, she looked vivid and lifelike, practically Daisy brought to life from the story.

The highest-liked comment among the praise was also: "Oh my god, this is exactly how I imagined Daisy! It's a perfect match!"

  Gentle, soft, evoking sympathy.

Female fans exclaimed that Daisy had come to life.

Male fans felt their protective instincts surge instantly.

The official account even replied to the hot comments directly: "Original photo, no post-processing!"

The hashtag instantly exploded onto the trending charts: "New Actress Plays Daisy, Original Stills Amaze Fans!"

Immediately after, the hashtag "Chloe as Daisy's Portrayer" rose with the momentum, reaching number two on the trending charts in just half an hour!

Chloe's personal fan super topic was rapidly established. Her personal accounts across all platforms were dug up, and within less than an hour, her follower growth rate across all platforms had broken two million.

  "Chloe, you're famous! You're famous!"

Taylor held her phone, excitedly scrolling through the content on the trending charts, exclaiming as she read: "The first batch of behind-the-scenes photos has no negative reviews across the entire internet! That's amazing, Chloe!"

Chloe was somewhat dazed at this point. Before this, she hadn't even considered that she might make waves with the promotional stills. But seeing the overwhelmingly trending topics online, she belatedly began to feel that she might have become famous.

Messages on LetsChat were also popping up non-stop. Almost everyone she had known since childhood had sent her messages, but she had no idea how to reply.

"What's wrong, Chloe? Aren't you happy?"

Seeing Chloe stunned and unresponsive, Taylor asked worriedly.

Chloe came back to her senses and smiled: "I am happy. Very happy."
