Chapter 84: I Fully Represent My Younger Sister

After finishing her two morning scenes, Chloe had her makeup removed by Lily. Edward went to a restaurant outside the film and television base to pack up some dishes, mostly Chloe's favorites.

Having spent these days together, Edward had become quite familiar with Chloe's habits and tastes.

Watching Edward lay out the dishes one by one, Chloe couldn't help but say: "This much?"

Hearing this, Edward replied: "Is this a lot? Logically, on a good day like today, we should really be celebrating. I only didn't buy more because you said you didn't want to be too conspicuous."

Taylor counted and smiled: "Only eight dishes, just a few more than usual. Even if we're keeping a low profile and not celebrating, can't we still buy some for your sister? Your sister came to visit today. Isn't it only right to order a couple extra dishes?"

As soon as she finished speaking, Grace walked in from outside with a smile: "What's being bought for me to eat?"

"Sis!" Chloe went up to her and asked, "Where did you go? Taylor was just out looking for you for a while."

Grace replied naturally: "Just wandered around. It's rare to visit a film and television base. Thought I might run into a celebrity. I just saw Jennifer. I remember you really liked her."

Chloe nodded excitedly: "Yes, I've watched several of her scenes. She acts really well."

Then she felt sorry for her 'idol': "But with her acting skills, I don't know why her company always has her acting in costume idol dramas. She doesn't get many chances to win awards."

Upon hearing this, Taylor blurted out, "Costume idol dramas have high viewership and attract fans. Although this genre isn't favored by mainstream awards, it's a fiercely competitive field. Jennifer is currently at the top. She probably doesn't want to change her image either. If it fails, wouldn't she end up with neither?"

Being an internal employee of an entertainment company, she was well-versed in these matters.

Chloe seemed to understand Jennifer's position, but perhaps not entirely.

Anyway, she didn't want to always act in costume idol dramas, unless the roles were completely different and challenging.

Grace knew her sister well and understood her thoughts. She smiled and reminded her: "Remember what you're thinking now. Remember to bring it up when discussing the contract later."

"Huh?" Chloe didn't expect her thoughts to be seen through so easily by her sister. She hesitated: "Can I bring that up?"

Grace had already leisurely sat down, ready to start eating. Hearing this, she said casually: "Whether you bring it up is your right. Whether they can accept it is up to them. Negotiation is a back-and-forth process."

As she spoke, she picked up a piece of barbequed pork and tasted it. Her eyes lit up: "So flavorful! Delicious!"

Seeing this, Edward smiled proudly: "That restaurant is a hidden gem, tucked away in a small alley. Most people don't know about it."

Grace invited everyone to sit and eat together. Food tastes better with more people, and they could chat while eating.

Halfway through the meal, Wendy arrived. Before they could exchange more than a few words, Faye also showed up belatedly.

Upon meeting, Faye immediately adopted the demeanor of a junior greeting a senior: "Hello, Wendy. Long time no see."

Wendy, slightly plump with a kind and amiable smile, was also polite upon seeing Faye: "It really has been a while. The last time was probably six months ago at the 'Golden Plum Awards' ceremony."

"Please don't just stand there, both of you. Have a seat and talk."

Edward cleared the table, and Chloe quickly invited the two to sit down.

Their respective intentions were already clear. So as soon as they sat down, Faye took the initiative and looked at Chloe, saying, "Chloe, you've finished looking at the contract, right? How are you considering it?"

Chloe started feeling nervous again, the kind she couldn't control. If it were just Faye, she might have felt more at ease. But with Wendy present, she couldn't help but feel conflicted and didn't know how to turn one of them down.

Seeing this, Grace spoke up for her sister: "Both of you, I am Chloe's biological older sister. My name is Grace."

Wendy knew Grace's identity but acted as if meeting her for the first time, nodding. Faye's gaze upon seeing Grace instinctively brightened.

Such a beautifully proportioned young woman. If she could act, she'd definitely be a promising talent.

Grace first looked seriously at Faye and said, "Faye, I've long heard of you. Chloe has mentioned you to me more than once. I've also had a lawyer review your contract."

Faye nodded with a smile: "Being cautious is a good thing."

Grace continued: "The contract indeed doesn't have any major issues. But as you can see, Wendy's presence here means another company has also extended an olive branch to my sister."

"Chloe has a gentle personality, tends to overthink things, and isn't good at refusing others. So today, I will fully represent my younger sister in further discussions regarding the contracts with both of you."

Facing two industry veterans, Grace spoke in an orderly and composed manner from the start, showing no sign of fluster.

Chloe cast a grateful look at her sister. Thank goodness her sister was here; otherwise, she wouldn't have known what to do today.

Both contracts were placed on the table. Grace felt this was a major decision for her sister. If they were going to discuss it, they needed to be thorough and clear in one go. They couldn't let her sister compromise just because she was a newcomer.

Even if negotiations with both companies fell through, Grace could pave the way for her sister herself. At most, they could set up a personal studio, with her as the investor selecting scripts and teams for her sister. She could afford the initial financial burn.

Of course, at this moment, she approached the negotiations for her sister with full sincerity. If they could sign with a satisfactory company, it would undoubtedly be a good thing for her sister. After all, professional matters are best handled by professional companies, which would be much more effective than an outsider like herself.

"Then I'll skip the formalities and get straight to the point." Grace looked at the two women before her and stated frankly, "Looking at these two contracts alone, the conditions offered by Wendy are better than those from Faye. The profit split is one percentage point higher, and the promised future resources are also more attractive."

Upon hearing this, Wendy merely smiled slightly, as if she already knew this.

Faye took a deep breath and said somewhat helplessly: "I really can't do anything about that. Within the company, managers have different levels of authority. Wendy, with her high prestige and seniority, has the authority to offer top-tier contracts at 'Golden Joe'. But I don't. The best contract I can secure within my ability is this one."

She couldn't argue about this, especially in front of Wendy.

Grace nodded and continued: "However, these aren't my primary concerns. Having them is good, but not having them won't be the deciding factor for Chloe."

At this point, Grace paused slightly, then sat up straight and said softly but directly: "What I care about are Chloe's own requirements. There are some clauses I need to add. As a newcomer, making such demands might seem somewhat presumptuous. But both of you have the right to refuse. Since this is a discussion, shouldn't it be reasonable for both sides to express their demands, right?"
