5.) Aalackai Klemen

The day I awakened was the day that my life stopped being mine. I was no longer in control of my life. When I thought things couldn't get worse, my parents decided to send me off to Sakas Academy, the all-Alpha bordering school.

When I left home, I knew something bad was going to happen to me.

I was sent away from home because my parents believed it was the best option for me. I was an unusual case for my family.

A family of Omegas suddenly producing an Alpha child.

  It was unheard of.

It's the kind of mistake that would raise questions...

When everyone found out that I was an alpha, they thought I was a miracle. They didn't question the impossibility... and if they did, they kept their mouth shut about it.

I thought I was a curse. I still think I am... my existence means the absolute worst thing in this society. I am not my father's child. I wasn't a result of my parents' love.

I am my mother's misfortune, and it's only right that I suffer the consequences of my existence.

In the morning, I left for the boarding school. No one was there to send me off. My father and mother were on a business trip, and my brothers were living elsewhere. My two best friends were lying asleep upstairs in my family home.

Lilas and Kitayana were curled up next to each other, sleeping. Kitayana clung to Lilas for dear life, and I couldn't bring myself to wake them when they looked so peaceful.

When I got into the carriage that day, I was given a quiet sendoff by my family's servants.

The moment that the carriage door shut behind me, I knew I wouldn't come back home the same.

When I arrived at the academy, I didn't know who I was and who I was meant to be.

I was only... 13 when they decided to send me away.

It took them 2 years to get rid of me... I'm surprised it didn't take them longer.

The lead-up to my departure was due to some "major" incidents...

The most noteworthy one was... the worst incident out of all of them. It was when I awakened for the first time.

I was 11 years old at the time, on my way to a royal hunt hosted by the royal family. Everyone in the kingdom was excited for this particular hunt.

His majesty the King would be attending a hunt for the first time in years. It was a chance for me to see my best friend's father for the first time and show off my skills to the nobles of our kingdom.

I was happy that day, even when my favorite bow snapped in half earlier in the morning.

When we arrived at the king's forest, families of tents were set up. All the tents were color correlated. Navy blue for omegas, lush green for betas, dark red for alphas, and purple for mixed families.

When my family arrived at our tent, Lilas and Kitayana were outside the entrance already waiting for me.

"Aalackai! You made it." Kitayana gave me a warm hug. "Lady Klemen, can we play with Aalackai?" Kitayana asked with puppy eyes.

"Oh, honey, there's no need for those eyes. Go ahead and play." My mother then turned to face me, "Aalackai, let me know if you enter the forest. Remember, dear, tell me in person." My mother said as she swiped my hair back away from my face.

I nodded, and then I was dragged away by my friends.

"Gods, Aalackai, you took forever getting here." Kitayana teased.

"Kitayana, my family came at the time designated for Omega families," I told her.

"I know, I know. but still... Lilas and I got here 2 hours ago."

"Oh, the perks of being from an alpha family." I sighed jokingly.

"Hey, maybe you should've been born an alpha." Lilas teased.

  "Yeah, right."

Since all the families had arrived at the royal hunt, it was time for everyone to start getting ready for the annual competition.

Typical omegas and their children don't participate in the hunt, but were given the option too.

I did all my prep earlier in the morning so I would be able to hang out with Lilas and Kitayana.

"Hey, guys, do you want to go to the pond?" Kitayana suggested.

"Which one? The man built one of the ones in the forest?" Lilas asked.

"The one in the forest, of course," Kitayana said happily.

Fortunately, we weren't far from my family's tent.

"Let me check with my mother. I'll be right back." I told them. I made my way to my tent, but no one was there.

"Mom?" I called out, no response.

I tried a couple more times, but I didn't hear her. That's when I decided to look for her. I wandered around the campsite until I ended up at the dark red tents.

I looked everywhere but at the alpha tents.

I walked around for a few minutes before I smelled her flowery perfume. When I turned the corner, I saw her speaking to Sir Winston.

My mother was hugging herself as she spoke in a shaky voice, "What do you want?"

"Clam yourself, Salmay. I just want to talk," he said, smirking.

"Last time you wanted to talk...y-you–you did a lot more than that."

"Oh, relax. That was 11 years ago. Get over it. I haven't touched you since. "

"But that doesn't stop you from trying." She spat in disgust.

"Yet, you still came to meet me. If I didn't know better, I would think you want a second round." He taunted.

"If you have nothing to say. I'm leaving." My mother turned to walk away

"You're no fun. Fine, I just wanted to let you know that if our son–"

She quickly turned back, "Don't call him that. He's not our anything. He's my son. Mine alone. You're anything to him."

  Son...?

"Right, glad we are on the same page. If by some miracle he manifests as an alpha, he will never be my son. I will never claim him."

"Do you swear on your alpha honor?"

"Pff, you want me to swear?"

"You are an alpha, right. Prove it."

"You know I am." He said, winking.

  "Swear it."

"Fine, fine, I swear that I will never claim Aalackai Klemen as my son." A red light engulfed him for a second, and then it was gone, "Happy?"

  Am I this man's son?

That was the last thought I had before I passed out.

When I woke up. I was held in an embrace.

I could hear the sounds of two people arguing.

"I am not dealing with this. You handled it. You are the boy's mother."

"This isn't normal. His body is too hot... he's awakening."

"Great, as I said, you handle it."

My mother didn't say anything right away... not until he was gone, and then everything faded to black.

"Aalackai, sweetheart, you're going to be okay. Mommy's right here." She said as I felt her tears drop onto my head.

It turned out that after that day, nothing was ever okay again.

When I woke up again, I was at home, no longer at the royal hunt.

I was told that my awakening caused a massive spike of pheromones in my body... that affected all the surrounding lycan who were newly awakened omegas.

My body burned with scorching shame, and.. I felt that burning shame ever since.

I even feel it while I sleep. It's like a constant hum coursing through my body.

  It never stops.

Despite not being awake when I caused all that trouble, it seemed like it was the only thing anyone talked about for the longest time.

My mother never mentioned that day to me again, nor did I.

  She knows that I know...

I think it's the true reason she sent me away all those years ago.

There was no big incident that sent me away; it was just my awakening.

There's no doubt in my mind that my mother loves me.

She sent me away because she thought it was for the best.

If she found out the truth about my time away, it would break her.

I am my mother's misfortune, and Sakas Academy was mine.

Even now, I can still smell my mother's flowery perfume entwined with the scent of that forest. I still wake up to that choking smell.
