“You are a powerful hero, this battle is tough. But you cannot last forever!” The General declared while wiping my remains from three kills ago off his hammer. He charged me while shrieking. I shrieked as well. It didn’t help and I reappeared next to Alissa who was chanting. I stepped back and she jumped, both of us dodging the hammer. She actually landed on the hammer, flipped over him before he could grab her, and jumped back across the arena before she continued cheering.
“Go Hero Go! Your Harem cheers for you!” She continued to cry out while the peasants all cheered with her.
“Aren’t you idiots supposed to be on The General's side?!” I screamed. They all seemed confused. I say it seemed, because it was very hard to see them with my head going left until I appeared elsewhere again and was hit by my own flying head.
I grabbed my sword and swung it. He blocked it like he was swiping on a dating app, then punted me so hard I went through their city gates and out the other side. I would have died much slower if it wasn’t for the General jumping through the gate and aiming for the skull. Small mercies.
I had a plan now though. After almost five minutes of this I may have an answer. I looked at the transform skill and smirked. That stupid 24 hour cool down was gone. Because consistency is for wimps apparently. I was smashed into the dirt again, and again, and again. Finally around the twelfth time, I spawned near a barrel and quickly hid behind it.
“Where did you go, Hero? Your trickery and skill will not best me!” The general called out as I quickly chose the perfect form for this.
I felt myself shrink and I smirked. Jumping from behind the barrel, I did multiple flips perfectly. My current body is well versed in combat techniques. I landed perfectly next to Alissa, who looked at me confused.
Pointing at her I said. “Why are you pretending to be my hero? Get out there and fight!”
The real Alissa looked at me stunned for a moment, then quickly turned, pulled out her bubble gun and said “Right, I am the hero, I can win!” and vault jumped, while shooting her father with the bubble gun.
I called out to her “You are the hero! You can do this! I will be a supportive wife!” with a quiet snicker. I watched her do a flip, and felt a strong urge.. “Go Hero go!” I called out like a good wife!
Daddy seemed confused at first, but he fought hard! But the fake.. wait, no, I was the fake… right? Daddy fought the fake Alissa hard, but Fake Alissa the Hero was winning! He truly was amazing, I was so happy to be his.. wife?
I watched as the Hero wearing my body jumped around and devastated daddy. The Hero was truly amazing. I am so glad I am the first wife. I, of course, am more skilled than him. He is making obvious mistakes that I, The real Alissa, would not make.
“No! Left Hero!” I cried out as he almost got hit by the hammer. The Hero managed to dodge and pulled out my dagger. He was so clever! That is exactly what I would have done.
I wanted to help, but the Hero needed to win this fight all on his own! I know he can do it! I back flip onto a nearby stall and jump up and down excitedly. Daddy looks tired, he is definitely going to lose. “Go Hero Go!”

Daddy was down, The hero was clearly going to win now. I jumped down from the stall and jumped up and down excitedly. Then I felt a sharp pain for some reason. Why..
I felt the shift back and my real face drained of blood from what horrid hell I had just lived through. I looked down at my shaking hands. A million deaths did not compare to that.. that hell. My own wife?! “What the fuck.” the censor went off. “Really?!” I said to the sky.
“Who are you talking to, Hero?” Alissa had paused and looked over at me with worry plain on her face. “You..” The General's hammer landed and she was turned to a red mist.
Time seemed to freeze as I stared where she had just been standing. …dead… she.. She was dead. I… “There you are, Hero! You won’t escape me!” The General cried as he turned and rushed me.
Pain, anger, grief. I had hated that woman, and yet… I shifted my view as the hammer came down. I dodged to the right and pulled out my dagger. Stepping forward I jabbed the dagger into his kidney with all my might before ducking under another blow. I jerked the dagger out and jumped back, narrowly missing another swipe.
My vision was red and all I saw was him. I raised an open palm and said “IMMOLATION.” My body caught fire and I leaned forward. “Rocket legs!” I croaked as the burning barely registered. I felt the burst hit and I rammed hard into a hug. My legs fell off but I didn't need them.
“REVERSAL” I screamed and we both flew into the air. He grabbed and pulled me off of him, but it was too late. I stabbed him with my dagger in the forehead. I would have hit him more, but he managed to throw me off. I kept floating up while he fell. I watched with apathy as he hit the grow and died on the spot. I hit level 22. I didn’t care.
I pulled out the backup dagger I kept in my boot and smiled wistfully. “Fuck you” There was no bleep. I stabbed into my own throat and everything went blurry, then black.
I appeared standing next to the General's corpse. I ignored it and rushed to the spot Alissa had been standing. Something on my face burned.. Oh right, that was my tears. I had thought it was a cool power to secret acid when I cried. It was a mistake as always.
I fell to my knees as the crowds around me cheered and apparently something about me being the new General or something. I lifted her bubble gun with shaky hands.
“Can I have that back? It has sentimental value.” A familiar voice said behind me.
I whirled instantly to see Alissa standing there, in her pristine uniform and holding out her right hand. In her left was another bubble rifle. I looked at the one in my hands and the only difference I noted was that this one was slightly burnt from when I had hugged her while immolated. There wasn’t even a sticker.
I looked up at her and she smiled at me. “By the way, as the since is only for men and true heroes. I think it’s only fair to ask why you didn’t help me fight my dad? You promised you would be the one to kill him and you didn’t!”
I stared at her as she put on a pouty face and grabbed the half melted rifle, tossing the pristine one on the ground. I smiled, then I laughed. I fell to my side and kept laughing. My sides hurt but I couldn’t stop. I was so relieved, horrified, and angry at the same time.
“What’s so funny! I had to do all the fighting! I thought I was dead, but then I appeared as myself fighting him. You never showed up until after the fight!” She snarled at me.
I actually stopped laughing and slowly got to my feet, gently putting my hand on her shoulder.
“Alissa, technically, since we are married, we are considered one. So I did help you fight, I even did the finishing blow for my lovely insane wife.”
She looked at me perplexed. “You.. did?” She asked incredulously. “I didn’t even see you do it!”
“I am just that good.” I said casually before pulling her into a hug. I was so happy I almost didn’t feel the dagger in my knee. I fell forwards on to her and she giggled before wrapping her legs around me.
I looked into her eyes and she looked back. I leaned in, closing my eyes as I did so. “Excuse me General Hero sir?” A voice suddenly cut in, ruining the moment.
I ignored the peasant and kissed my wife. Her cheeks flushed red and she pushed me off. “No! Wait! Let me go get the chains!” She cried out as she ran towards one of the lego buildings. I pulled the dagger out of my knee and turned to the man with a smile.
“What did you need again?”
